Tommy Grafton did not have a great childhood. Although it looked good from the outside - upper-middle-class family with all the benefits - inside the home was a different matter. His parents married in haste and repented, or rather resented, in leisure. For as long as Tommy can remember, his parents hated each other but were determined to stay together and present a civilized front for the sake of their child. This detente didn't prevent either of them from subtly (and not so subtly) repeatedly expressing their loathing of each other to him, and didn't stop them from working out their frustrations on Tommy through ongoing passive-aggressive sniping. The succession of extra-marital partners through the house over the years generally treated Tommy better than his mother and father did, although they stayed 'hidden' and so rarely had any contact with him. Tommy learned from his parents' example: love was just a ploy to get what you wanted out of someone.
Desperate to get away from his parents, he moved out to live at university as soon as he finished high school. After getting a finance degree he bounced around a few jobs before starting his own: a high-end discretion-assured house-cleaning service. He treated his staff well and acted as their best friend while learning everything he could about them and his clients. And every so often, he'd use what he learned to enter himself into a victim's life and force them to betray whatever principle they held most dear. He seduced men and women before ensuring they were 'accidentally' discovered with him by their partners, and convinced business owners to embezzle everything, and helped ex-addicts try 'just one last time,' all to show that no one was any better than his family.
His predation of the city's upper caste inevitably came to the attention of the Kindred, one of whom particularly appreciated Tommy's controlled and focused chaos. She Embraced him, taught him to use his gifts, and set him loose.
Now knowing that humans are not the worst creatures in existence, Tommy has upped his game, dragging people into worse and more debauched moral violations. His certainty that there is no real 'innocence' or 'purity' sometimes leads him to lash out when he is confronted by someone who does hold true to their moral code, and the intensity of his constant fury makes people who are sensitively attuned to such things instictively sense his 'evil.'
