Craptastic. Isn't this the edition that's extolled over all others?
1st, 2nd and 4th editions all have their benefits and drawbacks. Regardless of your preferred edition, there is a lot of good setting material in second edition. I prefer 4th edition, but I still have a shelf of 2nd edition books I consult regularly. This purchase is worth getting if you like any edition of Warhammer.

There’s a guy named Steve Darlington (I think) who used to post on TBP who contributed to a bunch of WFRP 2E books. Really good writer and a lot of the stuff he worked on was quite well done. I remember really enjoying the vampire region book in particular.

While I still prefer the 1E rules, as Green Ronin put a bit too much D&D 3E tweaks into the WFRP 2E rules for my taste, the fluff is generally great to amazing.

If you are a Steve Darlington fan, there is a new podcast interview with him that came out this week. I haven't had time to listen to it yet, but it's in my queue.

Warhammer Fantasy Rpg 2e Bundle Sale on DriveThruRpg.

Worth it. I got this on a Humble Bundle a few years ago and glad to have it in my digital collection.

Especially the Border Princes book , which has some nice medieval-ish region generating tables. Was helpful for my Witcher campaign.

Currently Steve Darlington runs Tin Star Games, publisher of Relics: A Game of Angels and the recently Kickstarted The Score.

I’m really only familiar with his WFRP work and a couple of direct interactions with him over on TBP, but I’ll check out both the podcast and the games.

Thank you both.

Yeah, couldn't resist this one. And I'm super happy with the Humble Bundle folks, as a weird browser issue (most likely caused by NoScript) had me buying the package twice. I submitted a support request last night asking for some help to fix that, and this morning, everything is fixed.

Now I have something like 74 DCC adventurers to read through

I went to humble bundle to check out the DCC bundle and ended up buying the Malazan Book of the Fallen bundle. $18 for all books.

I snagged the Malazan bundle as well, despite having almost all of the books on my bookshelf. I also snagged the Pathfinder Tales bundle.

modern action sale on DriveThruRpg:

just for a few days!

That's an absolute bargain for Spycraft 2.0! I need to check whether my copy is the first or second printing. If it's not the latter then this is the time to upgrade I think.

Endless Flight Endless Flight will be happy to hear that Modiphius' 2d20 super-hero RPG is part of that sale!

Okie, now that I'm home and trying to look more closely at the sale... Is it just me, or does DriveThru suck lately? I can typically get about five pages into something, and suddenly the site will stop responding. Period. I can try different browser profiles, different browsers... Then it'll suddenly start working again a few hours later, until it stops. It's almost like a firewall IP block. Started a few months ago, and it's quite annoying.

Yeah, I have seen that before if I spend too long on the site. I always assumed it was a cluster server issue of some kind: either they have a crappy front end server in there somewhere, or they have a backend database connection that can't deal with the traffic from the front end, etc. Hell, even could be crappy coding too, if your SQL code isn't optimized, enough use of that code will bring down the database...

Thanks. Good to know that it's not just me. It's extremely annoying. DriveThru really needs some actual competition.

I've never had that happen before.

On the subject of sales, anyone else get just a little miffed that the print+pdf price keeps them from buying things during the sale? This PDF is 25% off. But you're going to buy the print- and it's free with the print.

Cool Stuff, Inc is having a big sale on RPGs. Not sure what prompted it, but there are some good prices:

I got Transformers, Regency Cthulhu and Dune RPG: Power and Pawns for less than $20 each.

Sick prices on Blade Runner, Broken Compass, LotR 5e and Savage Pathfinder stuff. Why do I have to be so broke right now?

I've never had it happen, but since you have had it happen I did try to make it happen. No luck.

Part of me says (genuine) thanks. Part of me says (sarcastic) thanks. Not sure which one wins, but I did just pick up the Broken Compass RPG (all except season 3 which was out of stock). Also some Iron Kingdoms 5E treatments (for use with FMF version).

I would love to nab some more 5e books at those prices but I don’t have the extra cash at the moment

Not a whole lot there for me, since I'm a big ol' gaming snob, but some leftover store credit is getting me another Symbaroum sourcebook.

A couple of them I would get but considering you get PDFs for free with them, the discount doesn't help that much.

And another 10% has come off CSI's clearance prices. Most D&D books are $17.50, Bigby is $21, Spelljammer is $24.50 (these include both regular and alt covers if available), most PF2e special edition Lost Omens books are $21, all the Broken Compass stuff has had another few bucks knocked off....

The flu took me down like a pro-wrestler in a carnival match*...meaning I tapped out for the day, & am hurting in weird places:shade:.

And yet it's the first day of school tomorrow, and I have a night shift that I can, but don't want to cancel.
Add to it that on Sunday I must participate in the first session of a Pulp Chthulhu campaign which I helped organise, but am not running! Yes, I should actually get to play:thumbsup:!

*You get no points for guessing what kind of video content inspired this comparison - at this point it'spretty predictable:grin:!

And it appears that it's not that they're getting rid of their RPG stuff as some things that aren't available on clearance are back to normal prices. Picked up a couple more things.

I can tell, to post this in the wrong thread
