I went with the traditional meaning of the term - Kobold, derived from Cofgadi, which were mining spirits in European folklore, but
I previously did this lsketch of the evolution of Kobolds in D&D

Really? It looks incredibly sloppy to me; especially the fur
You're right that the one with the flail is a much better picture, though I wouldn't knock the previous cersion:smile:.
It's just that the first one, with the glaive, fits better with my idea* of a gnoll. If I was to look at the flail guy, I'd think it's a werewolf, not a gnoll.
I think it's the posture.


*Baldur's Gate inspired:wink:.
