Sorry, man, but...what does "Image comics supplement" mean?

Image comics was formed in the early 90s by a group of star artists that got fed up at Marvel and walked out to create their own comic company. These supplements detail the Image comics characters and settings for use with the classic TSR Marvel Superheroes RPG.
