This is an illustration of Tarantia from the Modiphius supplement Conan the King. Does anyone know the artist?

i wish I could put my finger on what rubs me the wrong way about Wayne Reynolds stuff? The compositions are fine -- lots of dynamism, the action is clear, but goddamn, I hate it.
I can tell you why, it's 'off'.
Perhaps it's that his people are extremely stylized, to the point of comparisons to manga/anime, and over-designed costuming that removes any sense of realism?
It's not that. He has no idea what perspective and proportion. And it's little things, on the whole it LOOKS right, except it's not, and your brain KNOWS it.

I've heard it referred to as a overdone photoshop collage. Where someone took this bit of background, set it next to that bit of background, paste in those monsters, layer these action pose heros on it, and make sure to put in some stuff covering up where the edges don't quite match.

Personally I'm never quite sure if many of the figures are jumping forward, jumping backward, falling over, or have been zapped with a levitate and are zero-g flailing. And their weapons are usually way out of line. Keep your damn sword pointed at the monster and the shield between you and it.

For those who know, did anyone else read this sentence in the voice of Harry S. Plinkett?
