You could entitle this 'Why the King Wants His Knights to Slay Dragons' but since it's from a manuscript of Quintus Curtius Rufus' History of Alexander, I guess the figures are supposed to be Olympias and Philip of Macedon.

While the sword looks kinda neat - not certain how functional it would be in practice - it's the boots I would want. I'm sure I could make them fit.

It occurs to me that you've encapsulated the difference between low and high fantasy. In high fantasy you kill enemies for their treasure in low fantasy you kill enemies for their boots.
 
Deviant Art has a great deal of amazing RPG-style artists, and while I don't update it any more (the forced changes a couple years back destroyed the site's usefulness to me), I'd like to comment Tatiana Spengler to you as one of my favorites. She specializes in character portraits, which is good for me, because I commissioned this portrait from her a couple years back for my wife's birthday, of her long time mage-princess:
