An allegory for Internet if I've seen one, too...Mont Saint Michel, France.

I forget where I saw it, maybe in a MeWe maps group or maybe Facebook. He posted it a bunch of places. It was cool so I downloaded it and also locked its existence into memory which then made it easy to Google for...That's a great find. I love locations that size.
I wonder how much this costs.
It would be really cool to have a complete map of that... I Googled, and found some partial maps. It would be a maddening map, but it would make a cool "real" dungeon. The lost Byzantine city of Derinkuyu. Discovered in 1963, it could shelter 20,000 people.
If you find one, please let me know!It would be really cool to have a complete map of that... I Googled, and found some partial maps. It would be a maddening map, but it would make a cool "real" dungeon.
The lowest level is a cruciform chapel (which is a little sketchy), upper levels were stables, storage, and housing for the elite. It would be really cool to have a complete map of that... I Googled, and found some partial maps. It would be a maddening map, but it would make a cool "real" dungeon.
Yea, I saw variations of that. I'd love to see a plan view map, though with the multiple layers it would either have to be multiple sheets, or would be confusing. Here's a tourist map, that deep chapel is #5
There are a lot cooler pics of this site but they are all full of SCUBA divers, and I tried to find ones without them. The sunken city of Thonis-Heracleion

We'll know when that dude tries to jump across the ravine...

It is the soul of the mighty koranth, a noble beast that helps ferry Barsoomians to the Valley Dor.I'm more concerned with that white squid monster in the river.
You're not wrong. This also applies to video games too, lately. This thread makes me begin to think maybe fantasy games sometimes just aren't as fantastic as the real world's wonders.

If there's one thing we can 'blame' Tolkien for doing to Fantasy Gaming, it's that. Almost every other game not based on Middle Earth has nothing even remotely like it, save for everything is pastoral, medieval English in scenery.Yeah, it's depressing how uncreative the fantasy genre can be.
One of the reasons I pretty much ignore published settings
