I'm starting this thread to use showcase the winner from the Supers background thread for use as NPC (or more) in other game, a resource for Quickie NPCs, antagonist, etc. Some will have mechanics but aren't limited to those games, of course, but might require some additional work to use in others.

History:
RCMP agent Evangeline Watson was chasing a thief who had somehow managed to get in a government vault. But this criminal, even a super powered one, was acting oddly, as she raced through the streets and rooftops of Toronto. Every time she thought she'd lost sight, it appeared just out of reach. Also, she caught herself thinking of her past. Her admiration of her father and big brother, on how she wanted to be like them, officers of the law that helped those around them. The drive she found after Albert got crippled by a thug's bullet.

All the events were run through as she chased this strangely dressed for Canada thief. However, each time she'd lose and find the perp, they were always a bit closer. And the moment that her memory of getting her first posting in the North ran through her mind she leapt and caught them!

Except that she was in the mid air between two buildings and in her hands was the item, an amulet, that was taken. As she plummeted to her death, eyes closed and cursing herself for not judging the distance properly, the bump of hitting rooftop gravel was the next thing she felt as she rolled a few times. Battered, but safe. And once opened her eyes, found herself no less than 100m from her starting position despite having been run ragged all over the metropolitan.

After discovering that the amulet was never in the Vault, she's also figured out a few more details. First, it's Scandinavian in origin. It creates portals for the wielder, it protects the wielder using those portals and that it always seeks out a wielder with a just heart. The battle costume came with the amulet, and so after taking the non-imaginative name of 'Switch' (As in switching places, a tactic she loves to use), the newest heroine in the Canadian skyline will prove that she will always get her criminal.

Wits - Puny

Desmond Hart was just beginning a promising career as a singer in the boyband DeJour when a tragic plane crash into a chemical factory killed his bandmates and left him the only survivor, though suffering horrible chemical burns. After being rushed to the hospital, the doctors were shocked to find that he'd miraculously healed. It was then that Desmond discovered that whatever chemical concoction he'd been exposed to had turned his skin exceptionally malleable and that he was capable of mentally extending it to form flesh tentacles from his chest. When Desmond also found out that the plane crash was not an accident, but part of an insurance scheme by his record label, he donned a costume and determined to take on the dark underbelly of the recording industry.

History:
Africa is a mess, there's no disputing that. Between two world shaking disasters, the Paragon Incident wherein the world's greatest and most powerful hero went insane and killed almost 50% of the world's population, then the Alien invasion 8 years later that took out another 40%, the various nations of the birthplace of humanity have suffered greatly. In response, they began experimenting with various technologies to gain an edge against more disasters. However, due to fear and panic, shortcuts and haste can lead to both mistakes and results.

Amburo is one such, designed to be an underwater specialist, the warlord led government program installed several systems into the hardened killer. Eyes adapted to see underwater, coupled with a stronger, damage resistant body and innate swimming ability. For offensive powers his forearms were rebuilt out of a cable-like material that could break apart and stretch on command.

However, making him was easier than controlling him. Once the implantation was complete, the former Somali warlord second in command, killed his boss, took over his gang of pirates and began plying his new 'trade' across the sea, amassing several other like-minded vessels in the process. Word is out on the oceans of Earth, 'Beware the Kraken'.

-Extra: Secondary Effect 4 (Fair, Second pistol)

Specialties:
Athletics Expert
Firearms Master

Investigation

Qualities:
The World's Fastest Shot
“Justice Flies True”
Intensely Focused

History:
Rusty Simmons grew up with his grandparents until their passing on his 18th birthday. Willard Allen Simmons was a huge fan of westerns, including the old serial Have Gun – Will Travel, and both he and his grandson bonded over that show. Rusty came to idolize the wandering hero, the man with no home, but willing to help others. However, the times being what they are, he quickly realized that he had better follow his second dream: To be a police officer.

Unlike most, he never went to the military, instead he applied straight to the San Antonio police academy. His shooting skills were legendary, as like most Texan's elder Simmons' man was an avid gun nut, teaching his grandson not only how to fire, but to care for and be safe around. Which coupled with his reflexes and diligence to learning everything he can about a topic, meant he was one of the top shootists in America, if not the world.

After graduating and working his way up from beat cop to detective, his attitude and caring got him the nickname of Paladin, something he secretly loved as it harkened to his childhood dream. He also met and fell in love with a local prosecutor, Lola Grace Barnes. The courtship was fast, honest and true. And sadly, not to be.

The case targeted a well known drug kingpin who used illegals, especially children, as mules. And unfortunately, Lola got too close. The fire was clearly arson, but her being dead before the flames started was proof of the murder. However, there was some circumstantial evidence linking it to the case, but given that most of the evidence and any links went up in flames along with her corpse, the police were helpless.

That would break most men, make them turn to drink, or to some other vice. Rusty on the other hand, became focused. The police couldn't do anything because of red tape, laws and regulations that were meant to help the innocent find justice, but often only helped those guilty to manipulate it.

So, taking his savings that were going to go for a house, a life, with the woman he loved, he found an underground tinkerer and smith, put in an order for a costume and some special revolvers, and a ride. A week later, Rusty Simmons was dead and the American Outlaw, the Pale Rider, left his mark. The first was the drug syndicate. Since then, he and his custom motorcycle, Midnight, wander the back streets and towns of America, seeking wrongs to right.

Ion-Man by Chris Brady

AKA: None Known

-Extra Force Field 7 Radiation (Incredible)

Specialties:

Power Expert

Qualities:
All The Power at My Command
Constantly 'Leaking'
Half-Assed

History:
There are people who never reach what others claim is their potential. And sadly, Ian was one of these people. It never felt like his choice. He didn't make it to MIT, his scores were just low enough to not be accepted. His life was a series of almost. He almost won every science fair. He almost won every athletics event. And everyone told him that if he just applied himself he'd be better. Never understood what that meant, Ian always did give his all, but never managed to reach those heights.

So he settled for second best. Went a science college, became an assistant to a nuclear physicist. His mentor/boss managed to land a gig at a Particle Accelerator. Of course, it was a sketchy operation, of course it went wrong, and of course, it was all blamed on him. What no one expected after the explosion was that although he was far enough away, the radiation they were experimenting with -which he never found out, no one ever thought he was important to clue in. After all, his job was to push the buttons the boss told him to- affected him at the cellular level without outright killing him.

Now, constantly expelling low levels of poisonous radiation, and on the run for a crime he doesn't think he committed -he pushed all the buttons when he was told to!- Ian decided to become the one thing everyone wanted him to: The Villain. Turns out being callous and robbing banks was a lot easier than being an honest man. And so Ion-Man was born, not much of a mastermind, he lets others take the lead. One gig gave him a suit to 'contain' him, another set him up with a decent amount of cash. Despite his raw power, he settled for henchman status to more prominent villains, which ironically helped in his favour, as he wasn't pursued quite as ardently.

When Paragon went insane, he hid. Which is why he survived and wasn't part of the 20,000 Post-humans that died trying to stop the world's most powerful man. However, when the Ultimians attacked a mere 8 years later, he joined the fight, realizing that he was effectively immune to their weapons. It's been a year since earth barely repelled them with the help of the supervillainess known only as The Empress of Man, and now, Ion-Man is at a crossroads.

Qualities:

Broken

History:
Sammi McCain was not always a nihilistic broken woman. But the loss of everything she ever loved not once, but twice will change people. Although her mother's race is blessed with an innate understanding of general technological principles, giving them an edge in reaching space. However, being humanoid, but not to the Ultimian standards, they were discovered and hunted to near extinction. The survivors fled to a small, backwater and unimportant planet at the far edge of the arm of the Galaxy, where they hid and merged with the population. A lot of them had children, and Sammi is one of them, and due to her genes, she was blessed with both a high intelligence and ability to 'talk' with machines.

However, being cautioned to not use her powers all her out of fear of being discovered -Despite humanity having known and experienced super powered post-humans since 1984- she always made sure that any sort of breakthrough was either done in a group or a fortuitous 'accident'. While working for Vector-Dyne, a technologically advanced corporation with arms in just about everything from vehicles to personal electronics, she fell in love with a Victor Hines, the amazingly young director of R&D and her boss. Freely and willing to give up everything for him, she became his partner in all things. For him, he knew of her gifts and subtly got her to foster them and build trust in humanity.

Then Paragon went insane. In wars, most human armies target technological and manufacturing centers and communication hubs. But when you're so powerful that most weapons don't harm you, and you want to murder, you simply ignore those and attack centers of mass population. Sammi was at work at a remote lab, having both her children with her at the time, due to scheduling conflicts with her husband's family and that saved them. Her man's private plane was disintegrated on live television in mid-air while Pittsburg was reduced to a cinder in minutes shortly after.

Now a single mother with twins, she began using her powers more overtly, to help both discover what made Paragon insane and to prepare against another incident of the same magnitude, not to mention feed her family. And although she succeeded on the latter, she wasn't in time to save her 9 year old boys nor her side of the family who moved to San Francisco, renamed to Bay City after the Paragon Incident. The Ultimians, her mother's greatest fear, implanted by her own mother (And Sammi's gram) came and began to decimate earth not only for harbouring various fugitive humanoid aliens that their purity crusade deemed unworthy of existence, but because Humans had also failed it and must be destroyed.

Although Bay City escaped mostly unscathed, a lot of the suburbs did not. And Grandma McCain and Timothy and Thomas were among the millions dead. That was enough for Samantha, everything she had and cared for, gone and she could do nothing. Now, she no longer cares. If people want her, they can pay for her. Anything, her powers, skills, gadgets, all for sale, because in the end, what does it matter?

Notes:
Her favourite devices are a pair of X-Ray goggles and a hover-board she made for her boys, as a way to try and feel something more than dead inside. Lately, she's taken to thrill seeking. Her costume has an amazing array of tools.

It's a Fragile World

History:
Tiffany Winters was a thoughtful, quiet, observant child, watching her perpetually single mother bouncing from science posting to posting and learned of the world from her. And like mommy, she grew up resenting the men around her for real and imagined slights.

Her mother taught her that she could do anything, so when she wasn't good enough for a sports team? It wasn't her, it was the boys around her. It wasn't because she was a petite cutie who struggled getting things from a high shelf at the best of times. Every time she couldn't do something, mommy was right, it wasn't her, it was them.

And like her mother, she had a talent for chemistry and excelled getting a posting at the very same company Mommy started at: Vector-Dyne. However, despite their public veneer of respectability, Tiffany quickly found out that they are as big a group of IP thieves that Mommy said they were. But unlike Mommy, she was not going to take it lying down.

So putting the finishing touches on an enhancement formula, the tiny woman decided that she would be it's test subject. The pain was incredible, almost unbearable. She grew in mass, strength and density, wrecking everything in the process. When it was over, the lab was in ruins, demolished.

Taller, muscular, strong, she felt she could anything! Looking back at the rubble, she smirked, served them right. She ignored the bullets as they flattened on her skin from the feckless security goons. She batted them all out of her way. Now, she could do anything, take what was meant to be hers. And now, after getting an appropriately flashy costume, she will!

System:Supers! Revised:

Caleb spent several years applying his atomic physics knowledge to carbon fabrication. The hope was to create a material strong enough to build a beanstalk.

Buget cuts meant that Caleb and his research was going to shut down at the end of the week. Desperate for a breakthru, Caleb worked three days straight, till a lab accident resulted in the creation of an unique fabric, which seemed to function as a portal to another dimension. Caleb immediately saw the potential of using the strange creatures that poured through to his own advantage.

Now calling himself Importer, he would take the money he needed for his research and one day he'll figure out how to create more of the dimensional cloth.

No one really knows where the 'Guardian Angel' comes from, he was found in the 1870's near Carson City Nevada, fighting off Demons. Once the monsters were eliminated, he turned to them and simply asked where to next, as if he had always been a member. In turn the various early members of the order took him in without question as he was both deadly with his magical Winchester and an honourable man.

Since then he's served with several generations of master mages and similar seeming angelic beings. Although he keeps to himself in the inter-dimensional base of operations when not out in the world, he is as kind and gentle as man with his appearance suggests. His ability to hide his wings is useful for blending it, but his style of dress reminiscent of a cowboy makes it hard for him to stay inconspicuous at the best of times.

S'all I got. Sorry for being generic and uninspired. This world's setting is actually Green Ronin's Freedom City one...

-Free Extra: Telekinesis 7 (Great, limited to Earth and Stone)
-Extra: Blast

Specialties:
Athletics

Qualities:
Mistress of Earth
Forceful
Fearless

History:
Breanna has always been beautiful, entering pageants since she was six at her request, which her loving parents indulged, and winning almost all of them. A confident, if somewhat spoiled child of mixed descent, she never understood why some of the Black community disliked her or thought she was a sellout for using her attributes to make life easier for her community. The beauty never let it bother her, instead focusing on how she could help others.

However, being the granddaughter of a supervillain from the 60's and 70's didn't mean she'd have it easy. Although she expressed in her teens, she hid her power as Bree suddenly looked exactly like her exceedingly violent and hateful late grandmother. She knew this would cause her trouble in her life and wanted to hide it as much as possible.

The original Statuesque was never captured, never revealed who she had been and given that being a mutant generally extends one's life, when the stone white form (Suddenly naked) appeared and saved several people that would have been trapped under a building during the Silver Storm of Emerald City it caused quite the stir. Had she returned? Was she going to go on her infamous rampages against the 'establishment'?

Since then she's been confusing the Press and local hero and villain groups by acting in a manner unlike the original Statuesque. Bree is determined to be a force for good, to help, not hate. If her Italian/African-Irish/Middle Eastern family can make their differences work, so can the rest of the world!

Lady Bennu (because of the phoenix-like symbol, it's not a true Egyptian one but it works)
Real Name: Ahti (Ameera Ba pseudonym for modern times)
Ahti, or Lady Bennu, was an ancient Egyptian from pre-New Kingdom Egypt. She devoutly worshiped Ra, and after a time was imbued by Ra with powers of light and fire, and virtual immortality to serve as Ra's messenger and guardian of Egypt on Earth. She fought and defended Egypt against outside threats for over 200 years, sometimes dying and being reborn from her ashes.

A vile servant of Apophis trapped her ashes inside an enchanted canopic jar, which was hidden among others within a tomb for an as yet unidentified mummy. Archeologists discovered the tomb and noted the odd number of canopic jars (five instead of four.)

The jar had noted warnings of the danger of its opening, so after it was discovered in 1956, it was placed in a museum, until it was forgotten and lost for many years. In late 2012, remodeling of the museum lead to her accidental rescue. While moving things from storage, the jar was inadvertently damaged which released Lady Bennu. Surprising everyone with her sudden appearance, many of the workmen fled in terror. An Egyptologist familiar with the time period was brought in while she was trying to find her way out of the museum and despite difficulties managed to communicate with her, after a short rough conversation her powers gifted her with the modern tongues of the world--as befit a messenger to know how to speak to deliver the messages of Ra, unfortunately, she has not been able to reach Ra through meditation or other means, and so has chosen to guard modern-day Egypt until she can receive further instructions or a message.

She has routed a modern cult of Apophis and destroyed a magically resurrected mummy, as well as a few tomb-robbers, she is often confused by modern religious folk (Christians, and Muslims, among others) and remains devoted to her lord. In her modern secret identity, she is an expert consultant on her time period for Egypt and acts as both an assistant to the Egyptologist who spoke with her and a tour guide.

She has even indicated the location of four "lost" tombs from her era.

The Delgado's were known as a standup family. Not the kind of family you'd push unless you wanted them coming down on you like a hammer en masse. All big, all brawny, and none of 'em with enough sense to know when to walk away.

Hearing some trouble round the back, Jake at 15, was sent round back to make noise and tell whoever it was to buzz off. Turns out it might have been a good idea to walk away. Drug deal went very wrong, right before Jake's eyes, and well, the small Italian crime family moving into the too-entrenched Latino part of town didn't get wise fast enough, and opened up on poor Jake, and torched the shop.

Fortunately, they didn't know the Delgado's or the kind of family and friends they'd made.

Little tinkerer down the way saw Pappa Delgado (Hidalgo), crying over his son bleeding out on the street. An ambulance was minutes away, and the little tinkerer? Well, he had a secret or two. First, he dropped Jake into stasis with a little stick no bigger than his thumb. Told Hidalgo to carry his son round back to the scraps. Not a full auto yard, just dead TV's, satellite disks, and a few strange things he didn't notice as he walked by- shedding tears for his son. The little tinkerer? Everyone knew him as Eljay.

Assumed it was for Elijah and went on their way, what they didn't know was LJ120-EM-14Theta (In English letters and Arabic numbers) was an alien android observing Earth. One of the most advanced alien species out there sent him in to see what humans were like--and it found a place it actually loved and a people worth standing up for, but it wasn't allowed to 'tamper,' or intervene with the species development.

So it did what it could to nudge here or there helping people with their heater, or tv, or whatever. It respected the Delgado's and their families willing to do so for others. So while LJ, knew it couldn't change the species? One human isn't the species, right? So it rebuilt Jake. Most of him as he'd been before--don't tamper with something works, but you know, a specialized skeleton, and healing biomimetic muscle wrap isn't a BIG change? It left one arm uncovered so Jake could make a point. He couldn't "aid" the species, but Jake? Jake could. Given the enhancements, and healed of harm. Jake became a local legend, helping to fix things as they were needed. He wasn't the guy you called to fight the evil masterminds, no. But a gang? They definitely didn't operate within a mile of his place anymore. The Italian Mafia? Gone. The Bratva? Later? Just said no. Everyone got to know Hammerfist, his family, and just somehow got a clue.

LJ still works his little store, watching with hope, and proud of those people around him trying in terrible times to stand together. Maybe in a couple of hundred years, he'll get new orders, advanced doesn't always mean "fast."

Jake knows LJ's secret and keeps it that way, so do his family. It's what they do.

History:
Have you ever wondered how you'd react if you had completely random powers from an experiment or an accident? Maxwell used to until the school game. Someone had spiked the water bottles with mutaphetamine, the super power giving street drug. But apparently this strain was designed to be permanent and so far avoids the psychotic break the more common stuff gives.

A good kid from a middle class home, the moment that the bullies and victims started to attack each other after a few minutes of confusion, he stepped in trying to minimize the damage that the sudden explosion of Post-Human hormonal teenagers inevitably causes! His innate adaptability allowed him to handle the freaky changes relatively quickly, throwing ice blasts on the ground to make people slip and fall, or using his size shifting ability and enhanced strength to wrestle down the others. He tried not to hurt anyone, until the cops came.

Slipping away during the confusion, he's been testing the limits of his abilities in private. Even going so far as to teach himself to skate. Modifying an old school play costume and fixing it with some metal plates (Hooray for enhanced strength!) he 'stole' from a junkyard, then painting it over, Max has decided to name himself The Unremarkable Skater-Bug! Once he did that, the antennae had to be added to the helmet.

He's started to take on street level crime, not completely sure about his full capacity, nor having any real training in how to fight. But the biggest fear? His parents finding out he's got super powers, he'll be grounded for life if they do!
