I was really surprised. It was like 12 photocopied AD&D modules and I think one legit one.Well... that's disappointing.

A legal pdf is between $5-10!I think ebay would only take it seriously if WoTC stepped in and claimed an issue, and I assume they don't think it's worth the time to bother. I think if anyone pays for those things, knowing full well they could easily grab an illegal pdf and print them themselves if they don't care about copyright, that's on the buyer.
Jesus. This A-hole didn't even spring for free shipping!I don’t even...

Amazing piece of history and not many of these around anymore. Happy to send more pictures or answer questions. All...www.ebay.com
Transparent bargaining ploy! I won't fall for it! I checked eBay and know these are worth $5,000 each!I saw a guy on Kijji offering all three in mint condition for free to just get them off his hands.
Not providing a link, but came across a listing today claiming it was for the 1992 printing of the Marvel Super Heroes Advanced Set. Except the images of the box were clearly of the common 1986 version. Not that the price was any more ridiculous than what some ask for the Advanced set, but I thought the listing was pretty disingenuous.
I got lucky and got mine on RPG.net from a guy who REFUSED to sell above cover...but would only take money orders and not PayPal.The KOTOR guide alone had jacked up prices even DURING the life of SAGA Edition. It was one of the few books from that edition I never had because it was hella expensive if you didn't buy it on release.
You laugh, but a friend of mine is a hairdresser and she said that when she offered cheap haircuts nobody wanted one, but business picked up with she raised her prices. The community where she had her shop was more upscale and they equated extra cost with extra quality.I think sometimes they troll for rich folks who don't really think about or know the value of money, they just want in on the "In" thing right now.
"20 dollars? What could you possibly buy for twenty dollars? A single potatoe?"
What version is that one? I have the one that looks like a coffee table book.![]()

If it’s an upscale area they’re used to paying a “wealth tax”, which is the amount of extra money you’re willing to pay to only have to deal with wealthy people in stores and restaurants. You laugh, but a friend of mine is a hairdresser and she said that when she offered cheap haircuts nobody wanted one, but business picked up with she raised her prices. 1st edition - it's smallWhat version is that one? I have the one that looks like a coffee table book.
first edition was a little larger than paperback size, and not much in the way of art. It was 2nd that was made into a giant, unplayable coffeetable book that became an RPGnet darlingWant it for a coffee table art book?
No basically. Plarail is more common in Japan than Lego in the West and these are standard sets. Maybe there is some minor detail I'm missing though. Are these remotely rare?
Could be but ebay and paypal would take their cut. Why do that when HSBC will shift you more money for no charge at all and in much larger amounts!I heard a rumor that these kinds of listings are for money laundering.
Yes, back before BXE/OSE came along, a lot of people were printing these on Lulu.Found this today on ebay. Seems high for a POD book, but this looks exactly like what I want.

Anyone have any idea where the thing probably came from? Just a custom Lulu print or something else?
It's just the two book under one cover. Is it a fully integrated version of the B/X rules (similar to Labyrinth Lord but without the changes introduced there) or just B followed by X under one cover?
In any case it does seem excessive.
What's even funnier is that a bunch of the similar offers advertised above it are 11 bucks.Super Mario Bros...the game that came free with every single Nintendo system?
well, now you can relieve that nostalgia, for a cool half a million...

I bought the RC in POD in both soft and hardcover copies, and I can vouch that the quality is excellent. Truly beautiful books. I'm with you about the cost vs. nostalgia factor. As much as I would love to own some of these older books, I wouldn't really use them so it would be money down the drain. Most of this stuff is available in PDF form these days. The Rules Cyclopedia is even available as a POD... no idea how the quality compares to an original one, though.
The D&D books are being edited? I thought they just got disclaimered. There's a new wrinkle to some of this. Some pdf books are being edited for content to better reflect the times we are in. So if you want the original you have to buy the original.
