Snagged a second copy of Gristlegrim Dungeon. I was the only bidder, so I picked it up for $22 + S&H. This one looks brand new. My other copy is intact but has some wear. It was given to me free, so I'm not conplainin'. Nice to have a "shelf copy" of this one, though.

If you ever want to sell a copy…

Next up in my ongoing effort to abuse myself with 2d20, I decided to snag the new Dreams & Machines starter set. It's much lighter mechanically speaking. Also, feels better organized. Three, books, dice, cards, tokens and map, which all fit within the box. A nicely designed set up in packaging in that regard.

You want to sing some praises on this one or otherwise elaborate upon it? The description sounded neat to me. I notice none of the new 2d20 games seem to be using the special D6s. (Captain's Log ditches them too) What kind of Starter is it? Is it just something to barely give you a taste in anticipation of a big hardcover book or more something like the Dragonbane set (pretty decent game in a box)?

I'm trying to stop buying new stuff, but wondering if this should be one of my last purchases.

Is it just me who doesn't believe in "last purchase" statements:shade:?

Having read it; four typos/formatting errors, no index (yet), not hyperlinked (expected), some concerns with some retainers (how fast they'll pfft! out), and the GMing advice is decently normal best practices & a few examples.

Not aimed at kids. Should have a vague grasp of British slang. Sex jokes, but regrettable lacking full frontal nudity. Familiarity with the source material is not required. Ability to do funny voices is a plus. Not suitable for all ages or groups.

Quests are divided into novice, intermediate, & expert based on how hard they are to run for the GM. This is part of a novice quest.

An opponent. They're pretty simple and mechanically easy. First half of a stat block.

The Black Knight is statted. This is part of the second half of his stat block.

Yesterday I received my POD copy of The Tome of Intriguing Options and, as a backer of the aforementioned book's Kickstarter campaign, also a Beta PDF of Horrifying & Fantastic Creatures. Both of these are for Honor & Intrigue.

Original boxed sets, not POD reprints. They were left out in some fairly heavy rain today; fortunately, they were both packaged well and did not suffer for it. (And, even though the box is pretty beat up, the Ivory Triangle contents are in great condition.)

Today's Half Price Books haul: fifteen bucks. Boxes are a little beat up, but all the cards are here, and everything's in decent shape. Proliferation is missing the nuke die, but the one in Escalation is there. Not complaining at this price.

This year I decided to step up my giving game and donated 5 copies of the Swords and Wizardry complete box and 5 copies of the Dragonbane starter box to Toys for Tots.

I really hope some kids get these and they fuel imagination for years to come.

I got the Planescape 5e set. My kids immediately took it from me and started devouring it.

I picked up Ironsworn Starforged Reference Guide.

Also got Five Parsecs from Home but that might end up as a Christmas present.

I didn't get this for myself, but it's still cool. I backed Free League's Walking Dead game on Kickstarter and got a big box of rewards today to gift my wife for Christmas. She hasn't run a game in forever, and I'm hoping this will be just the thing to, uh, kickstart her GMing again.

From a lady in a meetup group - a neighbor passed them on to her, and she wanted to know if I was interested in them. There were other games too, but they were board games and I didn't want to seem greedy... These three were a gold mine. The DC Heroes one isn't totally complete, but the two Marvel ones are.

If you don’t mind me asking, what system does TWD game use?
