Best Selling RPGs - Available Now @ DriveThruRPG.com
This may be earlier in the thread, but I rediscovered it.

I spent many a 70s weekday afternoon watching the Kroft Supershow and/or the Banana Splits. I remember several of the component shows: Lost Saucer, Far Out Space Nuts, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.

This was one I didn't remember.

But man, as soon as I heard that intro tune, it all snapped back into my memory.

The show was drek, but that theme is fire.

Ooh, you know those times when you completely forgot about something, but then you see a single image and dozens of memories come rushing back somehow? Yeah, this is one of those times.

I owned a lot of novelty car toys back in the day. These things, cars that changed color in cold water, cars that glowed in the dark, cars that turned into big-mouthed monsters, etc... all that and I couldn't care less about cars as an adult. Can't even name the brands or makes or components. Haven't touched a steering wheel since 1999. Weird.

Vinyl is out, iPods are in, baby!

From the Philadelphia Inquirer:

Recently, the trendy fashion retailer for teens and young adults started selling discontinued models of Apple iPods for steep markups.

The company's website is featuring a variety of iPods, from classic to mini, from the early aughts listed for hundreds of dollars each. And those of us who used these bad boys when they first dropped are feeling a little sensitive about it all.

[...]

One listing for a fourth-generation iPod Classic from 2004 calls the device a "genuine piece of vintage retro tech" and says it's the "perfect blend of new millennium design with modern features."

A blue, first-generation iPod mini from 2004 appears to have sold listed for $199.

I feel old.

I don't get it. Nothing wrong with still using iPods if you have one, but paying that much for one, especially assuming one already has a smartphone, seems odd to me.

I should see if my old Shuffle is still in a drawer somewhere. Maybe someone will give me a couple hundred for it.

As a semi regular user of iPods and Shuffles I can still say why I find them handy. I sleep better with audio in the background. When I camp with the kids I bring the ipod to save my phones battery. Also the iPod has an audio jack my phone doesn't which I need for my pillow speaker.

Too much info I'm sure but it does have it's uses.

That all makes perfect sense. Plus they seem to have a longer life than many phones do these days.

I just think that selling them at such a markup is odd. Especially since new MP3 players can still be had for relatively cheap.

With a tube amp, of course.

Man, look at some of those deep-cut comic titles I've never heard of. What the heck was Mopsy or Ernie about? I'm always a little saddened by the thought that people spent thousands upon thousands of hours creating all that, just for it to fade out of the culture in a few short decades.

Alot of them fell into the public domain and have been scanned in at free archive sites online. Comicbookplus is one, which is connected to a forum with a small but passionate community that have managed to scan in an impressive wealth of obscure titles, even many complete runs.
