This article from the Atlantic is pretty much the ultimate Mic Drop on the subject.

Without going into politics, many moons ago my Humanities department graduation had two speeches reminding us to avoid the siren call to navel-gazing subjectivity divorced from applied and experiential rigor. How any lens can just as much be a polarizing one leading to the inability to see other very real wavelengths. Our calling is to try on different lenses (like 'Predator' movie) to make sense of a complex world, not insist we all wear the same glasses (like 'They Live' movie); basically to resist this distortion as an oblique means to power.

It was an interdisciplinary studies warning of what has been coming about in the last decade+.

In a way, it was the dankest, most prescient meme of all.
