Winter can rise to the occasion around here with the occasional low of 10-15 below zero F, or a blistering -30F wind chill, but we don't have to worry about competing with absolute zero, or anything like that.So I live on Baffin Island...
A third of the way to Scovi-17, methinks...I have about three grams of ground Carolina Reaper in my cupboard. I'm not sure where that leaves me.
In addition to this, I just found that Scovi-17 goes very well (in small doses) with armoured coffee. As a bonus, nobody else shall mistake your coffee and drink it accidentally...I found out that there's now a specialty shop in my area. It's selling hot sauces, and nothing else.
So I bought the hottest one. It's called Scovi-17...and I just found it on the shop's page. They actually have an English language page, so I can just paste you the link.
CHILLI HILLS | Super Hot Sauce Scovi-17
A unique selection of the world's hottest peppers combined with two extreme chilli extracts totalling 17 Million Scoville units.chilli-hills.com
For those who want the short version, it's made by combining extracts of extra spicy chili sauces which should, collectively, come to 1,7x10^7 Scovilles.
The only ones who eat it now are me and First Daughter. Well, she uses is in very small quantities, but even I am seldom using that much. That thing deserves some respect!

Well, the coughing gives the unfortunate victim up immediately...Not twice anyway.
Ah, so you're another roleplayer whose kids think that "Dad eats and drinks absolutely outrageous stuff"?My oldest was always picking up any unattended drink and finishing it... can, bottle, glass, cup.. up and down. It took two things, but I finally broke him of it. (Now he asks).
The first was hard lemonade in which he discovered the solvent taste of alcohol.
The second was 3 oz of coffee in 9oz of Pepsi (which works better than Coke for a home production). He like coffee (with chocolate milk in it), but I guess not Pepsi.
He looks at me funny now. Especially when I add vanilla coffee creamer (dairy or oat) to a diet coke. (Dirty Sodas, try them. There are even beverage bars that sell them.) I even leave it out. He thinks this is a trap for him to drink.
The internet tells me that armoured coffee is black coffee with mayonnaise. I don't want to believe this exists, but furries do, and that's conclusive evidence that god has abandoned us.In addition to this, I just found that Scovi-17 goes very well (in small doses) with armoured coffee. Mayonnaise in coffee is why we won't survive as a species. The internet tells me that armoured coffee is black coffee with mayonnaise. I don't want to believe this exists, but furries do, and that's conclusive evidence that god has abandoned us.
No, no, it's not! It's coffee with a mix of animal and plant butter (I use cocoa for the latter). The internet tells me that armoured coffee is black coffee with mayonnaise. I don't want to believe this exists, but furries do, and that's conclusive evidence that god has abandoned us.
I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of this eating habit, having never seen it...but I totally believe in our continued survival as a species!Mayonnaise in coffee is why we won't survive as a species.
Oh my gaaaawd, can we pretend that we’re not all super old?The internet tells me that armoured coffee is black coffee with mayonnaise. I don't want to believe this exists, but furries do, and that's conclusive evidence that god has abandoned us.
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, he thinks this is better. No, no, it's not! It's coffee with a mix of animal and plant butter (I use cocoa for the latter).
Well, that and Scovi-17, in my case...
Would it help if I yell at you to get off my lawn and accuse you of finding your gender in a box of cereal?Oh my gaaaawd, can we pretend that we’re not all super old?
What's your problem with armouring hot drinks, then? The Tibetans have been doing it for millennia!Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, he thinks this is better.
AsenRG, do you buy your coffee in loaf form?
Would it help if I yell at you to get off my lawn and accuse you of finding your gender in a box of cereal?
Yak butter in tea is hardcore, mayonnaise in coffee is hipster nonsense. Birds of different feather IMO.What's your problem with armouring hot drinks, then? The Tibetans have been doing it for millennia!
Well, I use cow and palm butter, for lack of milk-giving yaks* in the vicinity...Yak butter in tea is hardcore, mayonnaise in coffee is hipster nonsense. Birds of different feather IMO.
I said pretend that we are not super old! Turn on your hearing aids!Would it help if I yell at you to get off my lawn and accuse you of finding your gender in a box of cereal?
I'm pretending you're not super old, you whippersnapper! In my day we listened to our elders, 'cos if we didn't they give us a thick ear!I said pretend that we are not super old!
It's actually an over-the-ear bluetooth gaming headset. Git gud, scrub.Turn on your hearing aids!
Yesterday I used some of the pizza dough she brought home. It was like baking with silly putty, but the pizza was very good.
I made an Alfredo, mozzerella, cheddar, peppar, mushroom, olive pizza last Friday. The dough was store bought and kinda doughy. Our Favorite Home Pizza Topping is a Cheeseburger Pizza. Classic pie with half the normal mozzarella (or white cheese used for it) and tomato pizza sauce. Ketchup (tomato) is spiraled on the red sauce. A few squirts of mustard (swirled and smudged into the sauce). Apply the half white cheese. Lightly browned ground beef crumbles are sprinkled heavily on pie. A very good amount of cheddar cheese. (Pickles chips and sweated onions optional) Cook normally - pretty much to brown crust and heat through.
Actually, our favorite one is Clam Pizza (white garlic alfredo like sauce, with garlic and whole and minced clams), but that is either a "love it or hate it" pizza. The kids both opted to hate it.
That's a beautiful thing right there.
Yeah, I do love a good spice mix. The only ones off that that I haven't experimented with making from scratch are the Sichimi Togarashi and the Baharat, although I have experimented with Lebanese cuisine a fair bit here and there, I've gone the individual spice route for some reason. That's a beautiful thing right there.
I'm always a big fan of Mediterranean mixes, Spiceology here in Spokane has a to die for blend. Stick it on a Foccacia bread and you have a truly incredible thing.Yeah, I do love a good spice mix. I absolutely adore Ras El Hanout.
Oh the things I could do with a smoker. A retired coworker of my mother has a smoker and will routinely send my parents smoked salt. Because they're both on low salt diets I get the majority of it. I use it in tomato soup to make it nice and smokey.I don't have regular access to a smoker, sadly, but I have found that adding whole allspice berries to the wood and charcoal really makes jerk chicken shine.
I believe it's their Italian Crushed Seasoning although it's been a while since I've used it. Spiceology is great although they don''t have a proper in person store and instead only sell to a couple local outlets. They mainly ship in bulk for restaurants and apparently do so internationally.I had a ras al hanout sorbet one time and I literally saw God. It was so so good. Also, Giganotosaurus what’s the name of the blend and I’ll pick some up when I go up there sometime. I looooooooooove me those flavors. The upper left of that chart is my tongue.
