Today our government sent out a so-called NLalert over the cell phone network telling people to stay inside and keep 1,5 m distance, in hopes of appealing to the aforementioned hordes of idiots. The same hordes of idiots who had been calling for a shutdown of the schools and even a total lockdown earlier last week. Humanity's idiocy and hipocrisy never seizes to amaze (and depress) me. Who are these people?Apparently, hordes of idiots decided to take to forests, parks, beaches, markets, refuse points and DIY stores because the weather was nice... I think these folks could do with just a wee bit more panic.
We only went out to the supermarket for our daily shopping. No toilet paper and cut mixed vegetables this time.
3631 positive tests, 354 IC patients, 136 deaths, 836 hospitalized or released
If the hot weather doesn't finish off the vorus then all the people out playing and generally not social distancing (like today) will finish the rest of us off. I shall end up some old man shaking my fist at the kids playing ball. In generations to come the reasons why will be forgotten. Passed into folk memory to become an urban legend. It will form around me like a wicker man and all people will know is that I will be scary old virus guy. Shaking my fist from a darkaned room in a prefab built after the second world war and before the great Computer Revolt and the climate breakdown. They will laugh from behind their air filters, until the nanometer beeps DANGER!
No. The kids are home too.Anyone else getting a lot of yardwork and exercise in?

If the hot weather doesn't finish off the vorus...
Exact opposite, my exercise is swimming and the local pool is closed so I've been dozing with the cat, watching movies and indulging in Cheesies and beer.
True, but they go back to Arizona when spring break is over.Honestly, the only thing I can remember about beaches in Southern California is how much trash is on them. It made me sad to see such a pretty beach covered in garbage.
Dang, welcome to the future gentlemen.
Portland strip club forced to close, so dancers now do delivery
Portland finds a way. Close down her strip clubs, and dancers will do delivery.www.oregonlive.com
At least that club owner is keeping his employees working. Sure, it's not what they are used to making, but it's better than being out of work and waiting for unemployment to kick in
Portland has a butt ton of strip clubs. I have friends down there and Everytime I visit it feels like they have them every mile or so.A few Portland strip clubs are actually known for having good food.

Oh, I didn't think it was necessarily a bad thing but an odd sign on the times. O.o

Yeah I swear it felt like in Portland a bar and a strip club were almost synonymous. I mean I'm not complaining but man that is wildPortland has more strip clubs than New York City does, with about 1/6th the population. Having lived in NY, and now living in Portland, i was surprised by that. There's one not far from where I live, and another between my place and work. At least 2 or 3 others close by I'm aware of. Back in NY, the closest one to where I lived was miles away
“Our Austin Warehouse will be closing for the safety of our workers and because Mayor Adler is gonna make us tomorrow anyway.”This will hit some of us pretty close to home

I've got a friend who has been taking photos of all the "Closed for virus" signs in town, and I'm really glad because with everyone indoors, they'd be lost. These few months are going to seem unreal to anyone in a few years, even if they lived through it, but especially if they weren't alive and are only reading it in history books.

I've been watching and reading about the flu pandemic of 1918. It's like the ultimate footnote of history. Mentioned with a death total and walk right passed it. Nevermind that WWI kills less people and is seen as a massive event.I've got a friend who has been taking photos of all the "Closed for virus" signs in town, and I'm really glad because with everyone indoors, they'd be lost.
