My brother gave me a go with VR and good headphones once. Scary as hell!Facing my fear of the sea in Subnautica. What a great game.

The problem could be fixed if a larger stable of characters was allowed. I find the cap of 20 characters to be very limiting. I am all for challenge but the cap makes experimentation with different characters into a logistical hassle and time sink. That's one for me too. And I never played the DLCs and want to. I might give in eventually.
I like that gameVikings: Wolves of Midgard
Hmmm. If this is the initial quest, I don't recall either of those problems. Its certainly possible to get to the water station with what you're given if you go the right way. Unfortunately, its been a while (later on I stalled out because of some difficulty issues, and I tend to lose momentum in CRPGs anyway), so I can't give more detail.I am glutton for punishment, and have been wasting time on Wasteland 2 again. My new reasons to hate it are:
- There’s a quest involving two radio units, one of which needs to be fixed. Instead of using the radio items I have to fix it (similar to other quests), you either have to do a quest that glitched out on me (which the internet tells me others have experienced) or have one skill super high and use it with no prompting. Lucky for me I had a character with a fair amount of the skill, and enough saved skill points to spend to raise his rating to the point I had a chance of success....Guess I’m screwed when it comes time to buy the skills I’d saved those points for.
- So apparently the game expects you to finish the radio quests in a certain order, and I did it in reverse. So my topkick gives me upgraded radiation suits and tells me to go north, and that’s when I find out they are not strong enough to protect me and my party dies. He’s also directing me to a place not on my maps, so I think I was to have the rad suits upgraded again, and have the location revealed. Not sure how to proceed.
This is after the helicopter ride.Hmmm. If this is the initial quest, I don't recall either of those problems. I'm a big fan, I'll check kit out!Vermintide II!!
New DLC is dropping. So my crew and I are kicking off the rust.
I found a guide that seems to indicate it’s a glitch, so I’d have to backtrack severely on my saves to give it a go again.Okay, must be well beyond anything I ever got to.
Yeah, I think they had two “Attach repeater units” quests to cut down on creating unique assests. It just confused me because it sounds a lot like one of the earliest quest sequences in the game, but from the sound of it, its not that.
Haha if I played this in VR I would probably be heart stroke by now!My brother gave me a go with VR and good headphones once. Scary as hell!
I completed Alien Isolation back when it came out, I can't imagine it in VR!Haha if I played this in VR I would probably be heart stroke by now!
I struggle hard to play these kind of games. I dropped both Alien Isolation and Resident Evil 7 midway because it was too scary and oppressive for me to handle. I dread at the idea of playing em in VR.

There's always a balancing act with those games. They're terrifying and drive you to learn how to avoid the Alien, at some point though you just start to intuit its AI which was quite simple and then the game became a bit repetitive. And since the Alien kept coming it became more annoying than scary.
Had the AI being a little more complex and unpredictable it would have been much better. There's a mod that makes exactly those changes and it is very frightening:
Unpredictable Alien mod. for Alien: Isolation
This is a small mod I´m mainly testing out for myself. I really like the way the alien can have elements of randomness to its behaviour, and since you can allow it to have more or less freedom, in roaming, in taking breaks, more freedom should equal...www.moddb.com
I used to play in an organised group for A3 - co-operative with a zeus managing AI, and PvP scenarios. Structured games and such. It was a lot of fun! I could refer you to them if you're interested in a larger group.Arma III otherwise, we're starting to build scenarios and tinker with the editor and GM'ed options. It's a multiplayer modern warfare simulator on some BIG maps (10s of km), and you can play anything from a rifleman to a jet pilot.
It's more of a lifestyle than a game at this point, with several DLC (latest is alien contact), thousands of mods, including Star Wars and Halo assets, and scenarios. There are hundreds of units/clans playing regularly.
Tonight's game for my group was "Escape from Altis". Basically, evade the enemy and escape from an occupied island (based on the Greek island of Lemnos). We did ok, dodging patrols or engaging them, and avoided a fortified village. Sadly, we decided to search an "abandoned" farmhouse for supplies. An enemy unit and an APC were stationed there, and they saw us before we saw them... only a mile from an airstrip too.
don't worry, this group is casual friendly - no "yes sir no sir" milsim nonsense! But always open to recruitsThanks for the offer Smith We're all still very much in noob/casual territory, but I may come back to you on that!
Have they fixed the over population/dissatisfaction thing for city management? That's what killed it for me - eventually the population increase would override any and all attempts to keep the populace happy.I just picked up Total War: Rome Remastered, which is an update of the original Rome Total War (my favorite of the series). I got a discount, since I own the original. It took a really long time to download for some reason, and it is kind of slow to load when I start the game up (and twice it didn't open). Not digging the new graphics. I also need to see if I can adjust some things, because the text from the advisor seems smaller than the original version does.
I am playing the Roman-British, who start with no city, so I had to start a war with the Western Romans by taking Londinium. Once I did that though, things have gone ok. But not sure it's really better than the original though
I haven't gotten that far into the game as of yet, as I was playing it on and off. With the slow loading of the game (and battles are slower to load as well), it takes awhile to accomplish things. Of course, I cheated a little and gave myself some extra gold early on, which I used to bribe a few celtic generals to defect to my side. Since I was at war with Rome, I sent a fleet around with one of them and an army, and took Massilia (which was in rebel hands after being sacked by the Vandals). Using that as a staging area, I attacked Rome itself (which had a shit army in defense that my spy found). Took the city when they came out to fight, and then held it against two attempts by the Ostrogoths to take it from me so far. But it's still under 15000 population, and was built up enough that making the races daily kept the order over 100 so far. But time will tell.Have they fixed the over population/dissatisfaction thing for city management? That's what killed it for me - eventually the population increase would override any and all attempts to keep the populace happy.
Great breakthrough game back in the day. I have enjoyed them all since Shogun 1.
I started two other games (Sassanids and Ostrogoths), and I ran into the population issue with the Ostrogoths after taking Constantinople. They've rebelled on me twice, but I keep taking it back. It's been rough though.Have they fixed the over population/dissatisfaction thing for city management?
