To those of you in western Europe; particularly Germany

Same here in Rio, where we are no strangers to summer flooding. I have family in Berlin and they seem to have been spared the torrential rain, though their family in Western Germany seems to have had some trouble (nothing too severe, as far as I can tell).

We're just south of the center of the Netherlands. We live near a river more downstream but it seems no extreme circumstances are expected here in the next couple of days.

There's evacuations and lots of destruction in the southern province of Limburg but no casualties, unlike in Germany and Belgium, mostly due to differences in geography.

I have one friend who lives in Limburg, but her house is a bit higher up and hasn't flooded.
