I thought maybe I would change it up and maybe run Top Secret/S.I. I would run something similar to maybe the A-Team in the 80s, but more gritty. Maybe a short episode to start out and see how it goes.

Does this mean a hard cap of 15% on shooting skills?
Yes, Virginia, there is a franchise where they're even worse shots than stormtroopers.

Bunch we can do a spy caper if no one else jumps in.

I'm down, love the system, although with the lethality of TS I suspect this may be a short campaign with many missing limbs!

I'll just probably give out more than two Luck points to start the game out.

Working on a character. After seeing his stats my first thought was a son of a prominent wealthy family who while not smart enough to personally earn his way into an investment bank got a job through connections. However looking at how incredibly heavily most skills are related to Int I'm now leaning towards military for a background. Family placed him there on the path to potential political aspirations. Instead when recruited by the agency he accepted and didn't look back.

Will get to work on my PC, any guidelines?

We're doing an A Team kinda thing right? So more bust in and shoot 'em up vs. stealth espionage I'm assuming.

Well, I was thinking that if we could get like four people with various talents. I'm not sure the A-Team would work with two people. Maybe more Simon & Simon? Not sure but my mind is working!

Crap. Forgot this was A team. I can adjust to be more shooty

No, that's fine, Bunch. I like it when players create characters they would like to play.

I’m a little rusty at this play-by-post stuff. I haven’t ran any games in about six years. I’ll have to ease myself back in.

You can't be any worse than me. Go check out my PbP BX game.

So there are a few ways we could go with this. You guys can kind of pick what you prefer.
  • Group of mercenaries doing odd jobs for clients (The A-Team).
  • Private detective agency (Simon & Simon).
  • Government or private group that deals with paranormal cases (The X-Files).
  • Mixture of them or something else.
Also, if you guys want a third-hand like a computer geek or something else, I can make a GMPC to be that character. Help fill in the skill gaps. Up to you.

I'm good to make a character I love TSSI (Though I admit its pulp and low supers settings are my favorite.) I'll be the computer geek if needed.

Nobody needs to be anything unless they want to be.

So what do you guys think about my list?

I'm down for anything, the first two would be of the greatest appeal to me.

OK, so we'll go with the A-Team or Magnum, PI route.

This is the A Team we're talking about - the only franchise where the mooks (or the protagonists, for that matter) are worse shots than storm troopers ...

We're they not allowed to kill people before 8pm in the olden days?

Something like that. Hollywood boss fights ended up in punch ups because they weren't allowed to show people getting shot.

Are we point building characters?

So far I have a hacker (sort of) real name Corey Cross
E-mail: Foxy@armyspy.com (he never served in the army, he was Nav-Int)

I used an Excel sheet I found online so bear with me. Corey is a computer ops specialist, who happens to be reasonably physically fit, and trained in HTH combat, unfortunately, he's not fond of guns, so he learned a crossbow (with of course bolts fitted with listening device/mini-scramblers, whatever hitech thing works for A-team now equivilent.

Yes, it's point buy, unless you want to take a chance.
