I am prepping to run Trophy Gold. The issue has been my i internet more tha anything else. It's been especially ahit lately and not capable on running a video call. Im working on alternatives.

Here is the first part of a two part Trophy Dark game called "The Gift of the Sea" that I am playing. I'm playing the old smuggler, Milo, and this was ran by the Gauntlet's Jason Cordova. We play the second half tonight.

Trophy Dark, Gift of the Sea, ended tonight. It was my first time gaming as a player since around 1998, and my first time playing Trophy Dark. Next week I will start playing a Trophy Gold campaign with the same GM, and I'm looking forward to it.

I'll post the links of game play to this second half of Trophy Dark, and then the ones from Trophy Gold once they are posted on youtube.
 
My players want me to run a fantasy game next, and I've been looking at some PbtA options. I hadn't originally considered Trophy Gold since the game is heavily focused on finding treasure to pay for your burdens and to save up to help pay for the goals of your drive. I've been wanting run either a game that focuses on a fantasy mercenary unit or one that is an exploration of a ruined dwarven city (like the Mines of Moria).

But now for the mercenary option, I think you could just frame the objective of the missions as if you complete the assignment it covers your burdens. For the dwarven ruins I think Trophy Gold does that naturally.
 
I accidentally discovered Trophy yesterday and now it's popping up all over the place. I'll have to watch the videos. Just the logo and graphics make me want to try it tbh.
 
Trophy Dark you really have to play knowing your character is doomed. You're just roleplaying their demise. :smile:

I've only played Trophy Gold once, but I'll know more in a week or two. So far, so good.
 
I keep clicking on this thread thinking it will be about highly sought after / rare rpgs.... I guess I'll never learn.

I'm going to pre-order all three hard backs and the extra gee-gaws next week. I'm super excited for Loom.

I think if you pre-order (or already did), Jason will send you the link on discord. I just showed him my confirmation email and he set me up.
 
Pulled the trigger on the pre-order for the big load, al the books, dice and tokens. I'm so excited to read Loom. And yeah, Jason hooked me up. :thumbsup:

Every thing he runs this year in Trophy is all in the same campaign world, so it's pretty cool to have reoccurring characters across multiple play groups. It will be nice to see how it all plays out. I think he is calling it the Scoundrels' Quarter.

I'd like to use those tokens and dice in real life!
 
Well, I'm half way through Loom and it's as awesome as I was hoping it would be. It bears some striking similarities in spots to my most recent homebrew fantasy setting too, which is cool because transferring things back and forth will be a snap, thematically speaking. At this point I'll heartily recommend Into the Wyrd and Wild as a system agnostic setting supplement that fits in perfectly with Loom. I'm going to toss that, a bunch of Mork Borg stuff, and Loom into a box, shake vigorously, and see what comes out.

Thanks for posting this- I realized I only had the PDFs for Dark and Gold- realized at the time I couldn't get Loom and so just added it!

It's awesome. I'm about 2/3 of the way through now and I can't say enough about how they decided to manage the content. There are no maps, or population data, or anything like that. The content is all directly playable in terms of it being evocative and descriptive story bits, hooks, characters, rumors and that sort of thing. Every page gives me an idea for a game, or a scene.
 
I already have Trophy Dark and Gold in pdf don"t tempt me to buy the hardcopies!!

Same. I'm in rural & remote Maine. I have 2 players from out of state (Montana and North Carolina).

I think the plan is to wrap up the Between in the next couple of weeks. They are now full on going head to head with the mastermind, but then we are hoping to switch to something fantasy. Trophy Gold is looking like it will be it. I have 5 players right now which is beefy, but one or two my drop out if they aren't into the genre. I'll keep you posted!

The other option is to start a second game, which would be challenging until May, then it would be a piece of cake.
 
If anyone is interested they're running a little crowdsourcing contest over on the Gauntlet forums for TG spell miscast writeups. Here's the precis:

We are crowdsourcing the miscellany for Codex - Hex! This one is called “Three Dozen Misfired Spells.” For each entry, we would like to know what the spell was supposed to do and what happened instead when it misfired. If you want inspiration for some spells and intended effects, pages 8-9 of Trophy Gold have some good lists and may be viewed here: shorturl.at/doMN7 7

Submissions should be no more than 1-3 short sentences. By submitting here in the replies, you’re agreeing to let us use it (you’ll get a credit on the issue). We’re looking for evocative things; the purpose of the miscellany is to inspire the reader. Please do not submit any entries with sexist imagery (we won’t publish it).

Note: if you’d like your name to be listed differently on the Codex credit, send me a DM here (but please keep your submissions in the thread).

For this miscellany, we’re looking for things that are fantastical, horrifying, and occasionally humorous or ironic.

In addition t the above, there is going to be a Loom-focused writing contest, which hasn't been made public yet. It's going to be a Incursion writing contest based on whatever bits of Loom you find evocative, and can be written for TD or TG. So get your pens ready...
 
You'll have to do better than this:
Ordo the Blind runs an unassuming food cart that serves morsels battered and fried on long skewers. I preordered the digital pack. I'd love the books especially now I've seen how nice Trophy Dark looks but shipping, taxes, making sure my family has food to eat. You know all the tedious stuff kind of weighed against it.
