This is my favorite system ever and I refused to buy the book; and from my comments in other threads, I don’t usually judge art harshly. I stand by my face-melting GIF.

she is REALLY excited to be in combat...
RIFTS: Macho Women With GunsSlenderSuccubus would be a little weird, but I'd bang 'em all. Have to watch out for the one who gets highbeams when she starts beating the shit out of Coalition Soldiers. There's worse ways to go, though.

Now we're reaching the point where the publisher needs to try harder. No background, no action, just posing there as if to say "Yes fanboy, you could be me..." Don't like it.I took a look through Blood of Heroes: Special Edition and thought I'd contribute some large heads and long legs to proceedings.
Rather like many modern superhero comic book covers with all the posing for the reader. Now we're reaching the point where the publisher needs to try harder. No background, no action, just posing there as if to say "Yes fanboy, you could be me..." Don't like it.
Well, MWWG was basically GURPS Lite, so it was a better rules system than RIFTS.
Somehow I missed this thread.
Dumb question: is this really the art in the game? It is so bad it is kind of reverse awesome.

You pay too much attention to art, then. IMO and YMMV, but placing sheets of paper with "Ugly" on them on the pages shouldn't be that hard!Voros, I couldn’t buy the book after flipping through it at Borders years ago and it’s my favorite system ever.
A lot of the original images are broken links for me. Anyone else having issues seeing them?
You can also resize and reorient images in order to attach them: https://resizeimage.net/Some are, sadly. The Pub only accepts images below one MB in size, so I used an external image host to store the larger images. Unfortunately, the image host seems to have gone kaput.
My first post here (hello!) but I've been knocking about various forums for decades. I was drawn by the chat about the art on Blood of Heroes which is enough to put people off the game. The game itself as mentioned is fine and plays the same as 3rd edition. The wall of text may put people off but anyone who bought DCH 2e will have been somewhat let down by the drab look of the 3e game, which had some eye drooping text walls to contend with.
That said the game is absolutely ripe for an update/sort of clone. I've been running a play by post for over a decade and we dropped the tables years ago (and switched to D12s more recently) and it plays absolutely fine whilst being fully compatible with the stat blocks so that shows it can be done whilst being sufficiently different to scupper any over zealous lawyers. Things like Factor Costs for certain powers need changing (Attack powers for instance are far too cheap, and should come with only an Effect Value only) but that's a discussion for another thread I guess.
Anyway, I *hope* that makes sense. I changed from D10s because it thins out the number of doubles after rolling piles of dice and it works just fine. I adjust fail rolls by +1 (so a roll of 2-3 fails instead of double 1, for instance).
Probably crunchy as hell to anyone who has no idea what Acting/Opposing/ Effect/Resistance Values are ...
Au contraire. Superman is a master of the Kryptonian martial art Klurkor:Superman on the other hand has higher Dex but is untrained at fighting...
Most of these drawings bring back fuzzy flashbacks of comic art I swear I had seen in Wizard magazine back in the 90s.
