This was announced recently and now director Mike Barker, who does the rather good Handmaid's Tale TV series, is attached to direct.
Still a long way from this becoming a reality but when I revisited the King novels of my youth this one co-written by Straub struck me as the best of the lot.
It has a healthy dose of Straub in it (the prose is notably more elegant and the plot more streamlined than King's usual) and I suspect working with him was a big influence on King.
Essentially a mix of a dimension-hopping Huckleberry Finn and a much-gritttier LotR but Jim is a Werewolf, the book is well worth a read. I have the decades later sequel The Black House which I hear is quite good too but haven't got around to reading it yet.
