Me, when this popped up in my YT suggestions: Huh, Colm already did a cover of this classic Stan Rogers folk song a few years ago. Wonder why he did a new one?

Me, at 1:55: Not sure getting shouty in a Stan Rogers song is the best choice. I love folk music and I love metal but they don't always blend well.

Me, at 2:00 when the double-time drums kick in: OH FUCK YEAH!! SOLD!!


BTW, this is one instance where it actually was useful to read the comments. Learned that this is a cover of a cover. Unleash the Archers did a metal version in 2019 that has a very similar arrangement to this.

I remember when I lucked out in the 90s and the local hip record store had a leak in its roof so they put a bunch of stock on sale. The sleeves were water damaged but I was able to buy a load of Mo' Wax records dirt cheap, including a bunch of DJ Shadow's early 12 inches.
