so...this was awesome...
I think it remains to be seen how well they do a small weekly show, how they scale down to that, but I can't see any reason to doubt they will pull it off.I think Double or Nothing proved AEW is going to be a quality alternative to WWE. The only part I felt didn't work (or seem to go over with the crowd) was when the Super Smash Brothers and their minions showed up after the Best Friends/Evans & Angelico match. It was like the crowd didn't even know who they were. Which is too bad, because they're a talented tag team.
And Awesome Kong! It's nice to see her, even if she's incredible on GLOW
Utterly shocked at the lack of Chernobyl love in this thread. What an amazing series.
Just finished the second episode of Good Omens on the recommendations here and this show is really delightful.

Finished The Flash, and finished Arrow. I'm almost done with Supergirl. Flash was pretty good. Arrow was so-so, but the final episode helped build more to next year's Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Supergirl has been a bit of a chore for me though. The whole season has involved a group fomenting anti-alien sentiment against all the aliens living in the USA. The leader of the group actually had a backstory that shows how he came to think this way (he originally did not), and was very well done. However, most of the group who follow him are just stereotypes, and that turns me off (I have no problem watching racists and neo-nazi types get beat up. I just prefer them be at least somewhat interesting, or else it's no different than everything else out there with the same type of bad guys). Lex Luthor shows up in the last quarter of the season, which adds a new twist (and ties into something revealed at the end of last season's finale). I only have 2 episodes left though, so I'll muddle through. But this has been just not as interesting to me as other.
I'll likely take a break before moving onto the last season of Legends of Tomorrow (which I heard was really good). I'm probably going to watch You'll Always be my Maybe, a new original film featuring Ali Wong & Randal Park (with a much talked about appearance by Keanu Reeves).
I also started watching Overlord, but so far, it's not grabbing me.
Yeah. I stopped watching Supergirl towards the end of the third season because it just became far too political, and not even the good kind. More like the extremely blatant "bash your head in with a politically wrapped brick three or four times per episode so we'll be clear that you get our message" kind. Since all of the CW DC shows are tied together, I stopped watching the rest as well. It's a shame, as Supergirl has been one of my favorite fictional characters for decades.
Just got back from watching X-Men Dark Phoenix. And I find myself wondering, just how many times can they completely miss the point of the storylines they're supposed to be mining for ideas?
Maybe when the X-Men blend into the MCU, we can finally get something worthy of the source material.
To be fair, Spider-Man 2 was amazing. Almost everything about it was perfect. 1 and 3 haven't held up as well if you ask me.Dunno man, much as I enjoy the MCU their take on Spider-Man doesn’t hold a candle to Sam Raimi’s. (Even taking Raimi’s weaksauce Spider-Man 3 into account.)
And how the hell does one replace Hugh Jackman as Wolvie? Tall order (so to speak).

But it all starts with the script, which is where the X Movies have always struggled.
Finished Chernobyl today.
Reactions on my Facebook and Twitter feeds are a mess of right-wing people gloating “lol communism sux” and left-wing people yelling “Soviet black legend bs.” If we’re going to be all serious about it maybe we can talk about how lack of transparency and misguided incentives generate disasters? It’s not like the private sector is devoid of those, right?
WTF? Next they'll say it was humors.Shouted at the screen when they said that the Black Plague Virus was carried by locusts.
