    What’s a recent trend/fad that you despise?

    That’s so bogus.

RPG.Net has been purchased by the owners of RPGMatch

Congratulations. But mind your P-s and Q-s.

"Ensh#ttification" of the Internet and what I'm doing.

I still miss the Yahoo! category tree.

The One Rule forbids me from being specific so I’ll just say that my Twitter posts and likes, while admittedly impassioned, did not call for violence against any individual or group. Just the opposite, I would say. And that is what I asked them to alter my ban notice to reflect. I did not - and...

    What’s a recent trend/fad that you despise?

New York magazine did a piece about whether Vin Diesel or Dwayne Johnson had the lower voice in that movie so they ran the audio through a device that measured it all scientific like and to my surprise Johnson actually edged out Diesel by a couple of hertz.

    What’s a recent trend/fad that you despise?

Calvin Trillin wrote of British farmer's markets where "the only women not addressed as 'love' were those wearing nun's habits".

The Big Generation X Nostalgia Thread

My wife and I both spent formative years in the New York City area and so during our courting days we had a shared pool of commercial memories to draw from. I told her I'd buy her a fur from the Ritz Thrift Shop and we could honeymoon at the beautiful Mt. Airy Lodge.

The Big Generation X Nostalgia Thread

It’s probably a good thing that I didn’t reach legal drinking age before Beefsteak Charlie’s died out. Unlimited sangria and me would have been a combustible mix.

The Big Generation X Nostalgia Thread

I’d forgotten that Michael Mann had lent his imprimatur to this.

Tell me how you'd put together a Vietnam War campaign.

Those of my age cohort will instantly know the answer as “n-n-n-n-nineteen”.

What brought you to the Pub?

The nicest thing I can say about Ms. Aniston is that, based on her YouTube videos, she seems to love her cat.

The OGL Fiasco. Did we get lucky?

As a practical matter, the amount of money Hasbro could squeeze out of OGL creators would be sofa cushion change compared to the amount they're hemorrhaging on a quarterly basis. For them to pursue litigation on any basis other than sheer spite would be madness on the order of Hitler relying on...

    No Art Game

Speaking as someone who usually finds all but large publisher caliber art a turn-off: If you can not afford artwork now, I expect that any you could afford to commission later would offer little increased value to the product.

Mod+ How does religion make sense in a D&D-like setting?

I'll confine myself to quoting C.S. Lewis who observed re theism and atheism:

    Another mainstream article on D&D

They've gotten over how it drives us to satanism and suicide?

Tell me how you'd put together a Vietnam War campaign.

Whatever one believes those reasons for involvement to have been, the men who decided them were not the ones who did the fighting. So I don't see how any "boots on the ground" approach - whatever its other merits - could do that. However, I could see a soldiers-focused Fiasco playset being...

Favourite or Best Original RPG Fantasy Setting?

    Ptolus Size matters.

    What’s a recent trend/fad that you despise?

Body modifications. I see Michael Stipe with a ring through his nose like he's showing solidarity with steers or something and all I can say is "Take that metal out of your face, son."
