Won't that game have to change a bit?

"GET OVER THERE!"

Eduardo Moreno, 44, was expected to appear in court Wednesday for arraignment on train wrecking charges.

You know I'm a mostly law abiding citizen, but if I have to go to jail, being in on a single count of Train Wrecking would certainly make you stand out from all the drug dealers, burglars, murderers and embezzlers.

It seems like conspiracy theorists have been coming out of the woodwork in recent years. I blame it on the demise of print editions of the Weekly World News.

:hehe:

I was just shocked that A) there was a law making intentional train derailment on the books and B) the sentence is up to 20 years in jail.

It is surprising really odd given that there's wasn't or only recently was a statute making Lynching a specific offense, but thinking about it, I guess it makes sense given how important rail ways where in history, U.S. history in particular.. Maybe it was prompted as an add-on to certain types train robberies or the like?

Train derailments, at least in theory in the US but in practice in other points of the world, were a common tactic by (usually anarchist or communist, sometimes fascist) terrorists and rebels at the turn of the century.

Still working full time from home but lack of commute, less transporting of kids, and fewer meetings has given me some extra time. I went to that classic downtime relaxer of rolling up characters. I decided to further test out my D&D 5e career path rules at the same time.

I'm doing 3d6 in order, semi-random on race, career, and class. Using Hero Lab to speed things up. The career paths hold up fairly well, though I decided getting automatic perks works best if it's only for your first career. I've tried it with full, 1/4, and 1/10 xp/gp bonuses to create NPCs of levels 2-7. Made ~30 so far.

When my dad worked for the railroad back in the day there was a derailment right in his territory. An engine and several boxcars went through several people’s backyards. It was the one chance I actually got to go into an engine because it was still upright sitting there. The ruts those cars caused was something else. I have a healthy respect for trains after spending time with him at his job.

I'm really disturbed by how many people think this virus is some kind of weird conspiracy theory. While there is an argument to be made that the news media might "over cover" it, I think it's serious enough that these conspiracy theories and people thinking it has something with people from the opposing political camps need to wake up, and accept a fact it's a force of nature and not something else.

One reason why I like this site better is I compare this thread (which started out with a bit of levity and then became a place where people actually discuss how it's affecting their lives) with the few threads on TheRPGSite and you can see the difference. Here we actually talk about the issues and how it affects us personally--while there is sort of the same usual suspects trolling politics.

At some point, you need to keep things a bit real.

Again a benefit to no politics. You can't devolve as easily into generic group attacks as easily.

A virus doesn’t care what your political affiliation is. When the shit hits the fan, people need to come together instead of trying to attack other people. I’m more worried about people adhering to the safety protocols instead of caring who they vote for every four years.

Its odd to say this given my status as Persona Non-grata at there, the Covid 19 threads on rpg.net's Tangency are pretty good in this regard as well, though it appears mostly due to some excessively heavy handed moderation. It demonstrates the overall wisdom in restricted political discussion if a more civil atmosphere is desired.

Heck its a topic that brings family to face to face screaming matches so expecting some at best faceless friendly acquaintances to be level headed seem futile particularly in stressful times like these seems overly optimistic, even naive. The choice appears to be; don't discuss it, take a largely hands off stance and try to rope off and contain the worst of the resulting chaos or run it like an ostensibly benign tyranny where you end up looking like this:

Maybe tofu eaters are not the sort to panic buy.

This is America damnit!

I noticed similar last year when we had extensive power outages in California. All the shelves for white bread, sourdough etc were picked bare, but there was no problem getting wheat bread, and multigrain breads. The full on hippy breads were basically fully stocked. Even the end of the world can't make people eat health food. :hehe:

To be fair who the hell wants their last meal to be tofu on organic whole wheat with kale?

I’d eat more tofu, but I don’t really know how to cook it.

It is a (mostly) tasteless protein, it works best mixed in with something actually good that has flavor. Stir fry vegetables or Miso soup are two of the more palatable ways to eat it. I think one of the biggest mistakes people make with tofu is they think it is a meat substitute so they try to use it as the core of a dish like you would meat. If you treat it more like a protein supplement things tend to go better.

I don't mind tofu, and I've had it in things that were good, Miso soup is probably the most common and is very tasty. There may be true tofu dishes that ae good, but most things I've had where people were serving tofu were pretty awful.

This has been going viral (ha!) in the UK:

This is what I was thinking of earlier, it is a Japanese side-dish, agedashi tofu. So yummy.

Note that the dashi broth includes fish stock so this can't be eaten by vegetarians. AHAAHAHAHA!!!

Another favourite of mine is Chinese tofu and eggplant in garlic sauce. This is often pretty strong.

A couple of articles I came across today that has me cautiously optimistic. This one from John Hopkins is about the genome of the virus, and how it isn't mutating that much, so a single vaccination may be all people will need once one is created. This one is about a promising candidate to be said vaccine. It's also one where you don't need a shot, but can put a patch on to administer it. Let's hope one or both of these are good signs that the doctors and scientists working on this are getting closer than expected to turning the tide on this

Most of the world is just staying home, eating snacks, and watching TV. 4/20 is the most 420 time the world will ever have.

(can't believe I haven't seen more 420 jokes this month.)

I don't get it. What's a 420 joke? Will I regret asking?

I means the Devil's lettuce, pot, hash, weed, marijuana, ganja etc.

Edit- Also, now is 4th month of 20th year, so whole month is 420 month.
