For a long time, if Arnold was in a flick I would see it, no questions asked. I can't think of any other actor who could get me into the theater like that. Even when I had a crush on Winona Ryder I wouldn't necessarily watch a movie just 'cause she was in it.

For a while that was Bruce Willis for me. I mean I didn't really like him but I always enjoyed his films. It was wierd.

I was just busting chops. I agree he is good. He was good in both this and Kindergarten Cop (I liked him in Last Action Hero as well). And most of his films have a dose of light comedy so it is definitely his strong suit.

I think maybe Tracy Morgan is replacing Eddie Murphy from what I saw? But it's unclear.

And hate this just as much as the Road House remake.

Agreed. I have this one, Deck the Halls, Polar Express, Christmas Vacation and The Family Man on my must see movies at Christmas.

Also, I see your personal text is exposing the goose double agents...except the accusation is so ludicrious, it makes me think of a comparison between the Pub and, ahem, another forum:

I could still see it in later albums a bit but each new album felt less and less like their original sound that made them stand out from all other metal.

I have never really been a fan of the Black album, but I have always been able to see how it is a continuation of the trajectory formed from Lightning to Justice. I can't really comment on anything after that, as I have barely listened to any of it it, although my brother seems to like everything they've done.

I was quite happy that, when I saw them at Soundwave 2013, right near the front, they played one or two songs from the Black, and I think everything else was earlier than that.

Wait, we can't even mention that it is sad that there are still some people who are still defending this shit is forbidden? I legitimately think that is taking this whole "no politics/no culture war" thing hilariously far.

No one on here is going to fight about "Wow how in the world are racist shitheads still defending this". There isn't any purpose to banning it. The whole purpose of banning that kind of discussion is to stay out of the flame war.

And as I mentioned (in the post I had deleted (which is weird to respond to considering I withdrew it but guess whatever) cause I didn't think it was worth it (cause you know what, it often feels as though it isn't on here to ever disagree with mods on anything)), the culture war gets mentioned in other threads and mods literally don't do anything. You were talking in that thread, where it was brought up multiple times, and said exactly nothing about it.

So 1. I see no reason to ban discussion when there was literally no chance it was going to blow up, everyone was pretty much all on the same page, and 2. Even if you are going to ban every single mention of "culture wars" you need to be consistent.
 
The first rule of the culture wars is you don't talk about the culture wars. The second rule of the culture wars is you don't talk about the culture wars.

Honestly though, it's hard not to mention the culture wars in passing when they are infinitely all encompassing and all consuming in the minds of some because there is no topic you can mention without it being a mention of the culture wars.

Is fine. Specifically, it is always worth avoiding talking about "sides" of the culture war as well as the term itself. It's overly reductionist, divides people into binary groups and invites argument about which side is in the right overall.

On 2, yeah, to be honest, you probably have a point on the inconsistency but it's not a conspiracy. The mods are not, sadly, perfectly evolved transcedent models of rationality. Like the rest of the human race, we have blind spots and our own subconcious biases. (I know that a lot of this stuff goes over my head because of how specifically American the context is).

For me to give something less general we need to talk about specific threads/posts and I'm happy to if you want us to look at anything. (I avoid responding to deleted posts without direct permission for obvious reasons).
 
We don’t over-moderate the forum. If you guys want us to, I suppose we can increase maximum firepower.

Except coming in to a thread where literally no one is even remotely disagreeing with each other and everyone seems to all be agreeing on things to make sure no one talks about the "bad word" honestly does seem like over-moderating.

Like, if we don't want to over-moderate cause we want to keep things chill, why come in and moderate a thread that wasn't even going sideways.
