When I can't see all the bookmarks by highlighting the folder... that's when I decide I HAVE TO, go through some of the older ones so the vertical showing is all within my visual when I mouse over in the folder.

I also tend to do that when my permanent folders get too many listings. I'll go through check bookmarks, remove if needed, prune and make a new folder for whatever new category I've decided to make etc. This happens about once a year when I just can't stand it anymore and MUST do something about it.

I even one time removed almost all the bookmarks but the "required ones" (the required ones being ones like my email, basic help bookmarks etc) and then rebuilt out of frustration at how out of hand I'd gotten with bookmarks. Just to see what I truly needed and how much was total bloat. The bloat is real.
