Gazadhim will carefully watch the warband for how they react to any dead rising, he will intervene at the first sign of any displeasure (OOC: The manner of intervention will depend on how they react)

Again Torren speaks calmly.
"Your fearlessness is not in question good Conrad. But your king is not here. And lest you forget, the rest of us are. Would you jeopardize the rest of us for sake of your own desires?"

Conrad waits to see both the blessed reaction and the warbands.

OOC: Sorry it took me so long to get to this; this is the first free moment I've had. I'll be updating presently.

Also, tomorrow I'll be out for most of the day. I'm going to check out a
convention next door in NJ. For some reason, we don't get a whole lot of actual RPG conventions in my neck of the woods, so I jumped on this one.

OOC: One thing I had to decide: Should Deed Dice be rolled when severing a limb with the Resurrection Blade? As always when I try to decide how the Deed Die works, I thought of Brock Sampson. And then I realized that yes, he would be able to do some interesting things in a fight with a dead body, so it should apply. Also, this is DCC, so of course you should get a Deed Die when attacking a corpse!

Anyway, I rolled your Deed Die, got a 6, and retconned the first strike to be sufficient to sever a limb.

Conrad strides up to the corpse-strewn battlefield. There are no flies, but small blue slugs have begun to crawl upon many of the dead.

The warband becomes silent as they turn to watch.

Conrad straddles a body at random, and brings his blade down, neatly severing an arm at the elbow. With a jolt, the once-corpse gasps, and the primitive warriors yelp and shout with surprise. They quickly gather round the shuddering body, eyes like saucers.

"Cotcyst?" one of them asks aloud, gently prodding the body with the butt of his spear.

OOC: Conrad's Luck check: 14. Failure.

The once-dead warrior rolls to his knees, and the warriors gasp again when the sash on its back is revealed: it's identical to the symbol on the battle standard of the defeated warriors. The creatures raise their voices in harsh anger, and raise their weapons as well. The newly-arisen one fumbles blindly for the knife at his hip while staggering to its feet.

Awesome! Hope you have a great time. I'm going to Owlcon in Houston next weekend. I'll be GMing a Mythras adventure converted from an old Legend campaign.

OOC: In case it wasn't clear, I added this pause in case one of you wanted to do something. If not, I shall proceed to allow the scene to unfold.

Gazadhim will race at the risen warrior to wallop him with his mace.

OOC: Result was 7
OOC: Don't forget your character gets a base +3 attack bonus. So the roll is a 10. In this case, that's a hit, so roll for damage and critical hit. Unfortunately, since the mace is one-handed, you don't get the damage and critical table bonuses that your class receives for two-handed weapon use.

As the mace collides with the ribs of the resurrected fighter, the blow sends him pitching forward. It manages to tug its blade free of its belt loop. The rest of the warband has frozen as Gazadhim engages their enemy.

OOC: Roll initiative for Gazadhim.

OOC: Initiative is 9
Forgot to explain what I'm doing. I'll kill this one as our guides seem to view the resurrection of their enemies poorly and might gut us. If I kill this warrior I'll suggest to Conrad to look through the corpses for those bearing marks of the victors as they seemed to be happy when they thought it might be one of their own

OOC: Gazadhim and the warrior act at the same time, so let me know what he's going to do. If you attack, you'll get +2 to hit since he's still prone (though rising) when you do so.

Steevo unslings his bow and gets out an arrow. If the newly risen is still fighting by the time that's done, Steevo will shoot at him.

Gazadhim raises his mace to clobber the warrior as he rises.

OOC: Just providing as much info as possible:
To Hit was 15
If this is a hit the Crit result was 9 (Leg hit shattering femur)
Damage was 6 (Leg hit damage included)

The Mace of Mayhem crashes into the leg of the barbaric fighter, and you feel the limb give under the blow. The warrior howls it agony as it crumples to the wine-colored sands, never to rise again.

As it falls, the creature lashes out with its crude dagger. A hairline slice opens up on Gazadhim's cheek as he reels backwards to avoid a more serious blow.

OOC: Gazadhim takes 3 HP damage.

The members of the warband relax their stances, but appear to be deeply confused by what just happened. Several look to Conrad in askance. One peers questioning at Gazadhim's bleeding face.

Gazadhim runs his thumb along the cut reflexively after the warrior hits the ground.

He'll then turn to Conrad and suggest to resurrect the fallen friends of the victors and assist him in picking out the bodies should he agree. Specifically he will look for the victor symbol on their clothing or bodies.

EDIT: After that he'll prostrate before Conrad.

Conrad cheers at the defeat of the fallen "enemy". He clasps his hands on Gazadhim's shoulders and congratulates him.

Members of the band grunt in confusion, chattering among themselves in a subdued fashion. They look uncertain, waiting for whatever you do next.

Conrad with assistance finds a fallen ally and attempts to raise him. (Damage=6)

Another warrior is raised by the Resurrection Blade, but this time it is a member of the victorious warband. It rises in confusion, eyes rolling comically as it regards the stump where its forearm once was.

As it stands there, the large scarred warrior from earlier approaches the confused creature. It calls out to its comrade, barking out something that sounds harsh. Afterwards, it turns to Gazadhim, craving approval in its eyes. It turns back to the risen warrior and prods it with the haft of a ludicrous battle ax, repeating its challenge.

Gazadhim nods to the warrior, hoping he takes it as assent or approval.

With Gazadhim's approval, the warrior repeats its challenge to the newly risen, who still looks a bit dazed. The scarred one takes a crude club from the hand of one of its fellows, and tosses it to the resurrected amputee. Even in his state, however, the warrior catches the thrown cudgel. Understanding floods into its features, and it settles into a low crouch.

With a snarl, the large scarred warrior swings his ax at the returned warrior. It backs away and raises its weapon, not to ward but to strike. It leaps forward and swings at its challenger. The large one drops his ax and grabs the resurrected warrior, hurling it to the ground. The two of them struggle there as the challenger rains blows down on the face of the amputee. It grunts in pain.

After a few moments of this, the scarred champion relents, standing. After a beat, he reaches down, offering his hand to the fallen warrior. Pulled to his feet, the resurrected fighter is heavily bruised and limping, but very much alive. The large one bellows a cheer, and the rest of the warband answers with their own ragged shouts. The two embrace as the warband surrounds them in celebration.

"Right, that went well..." Gazadhim turns to Conrad "...will we raise them all?"

He turns to the others as well wondering about their opinion.

"Or should we leave well enough alone?"

OOC: Gazadhim is metafictionally psychic. It's like...eh...in my class description.

Wheastraw watches this all gobsmacked.

Ricky shakes his head. "An army of fearless one-armed savages is not a bad start. Shame we can't, you know, give them orders and such. I suppose we can just point and shake a spear when the time comes."

Gazadhim will help any who Conrad raises to rise. He greets them with a friendly face and gestures to the other members of the war band to greet them.

OOC Conrad will just keep on going. Do you want me to roll damage or do you want to use some other method to figure out how many raise up?

OOC: There are a total of 22 (!) dead members of the current warband. Roll damage once for each of them and let me know how many are enough to achieve resurrection on the first hit. Any who require two or more amputations will likely be slaughtered by their comrades when they rise. A few with one limb may suffer the same fate, but I'll determine that once I know how many there are.

OOC do I add are damage?

OOC: He probably appreciates the help after taking that sling to the face.

When it rains...
OOC: Oh Jaysus. I'll have to chant it to myself. Conrad, Conrad, Conrad....
