In all seriousness, one of the reasons I have pet rats is because they are simultaneously very cute and very metal. Despite this fact, I never played skaven on the tabletop.

Rats IRL are one of the most adorable, congenial, and lovable creatures on the planet.

Skaven don't have much in common with them (they're basically Cobra from GI Joe as a fantasy species), but I find them adorable all the same

I've had multiple people in animal behavior labs tell me that rats are great to work with but mice are vicious little shits.

Rats are quite friendly. At one point when my father was teaching he brought his rats home with him. They were lots of fun and very cute - especially hooded rats.

Can confirm. Mice are very bitey

I can't get with them dragging their huge balls all across the floor and piddling everywhere they go.

ummmm... I'm not sure what experience you are describing...

Rats. Had a labmate with a pet rat. Drug his giant balls across the floor and dribbled pee everywhere.

Hmmm, that may have more to do with your labmate's caretaking skills...

Could you elaborate? I've heard that rats do that as well.
My own experience with rats is limited to a guy I briefly was aquainted with that owned a rat. There was droppings all over his bedroom, including on his bed. I cannot fathom living, let alone sleeping in a room with the amount of rat crap I saw. I'm wondering now if he was just a bad rat owner.

I mean, rats are nesting animals. It'd be no different than owning a cat without a litter box or any housetraining. All my rats lived in exposures, except during the periods they came out to play, and those enclosures cleaned every few days so that ammonia doesn't build up.

I...don't know about the engorged testes though.

My rat exterminator said the pee a tiny bit constantly as a way to mark paths traveled. If you have ever read the Exterminators comics he very much looked like a guy who injected the rat poison to get high. I couldn't decide if his knowledge was extensive or creative.

lol, all I know is I watched quite a few movies with Frodo and Bilbo climbing all over me and never once ended up covered in rat pee

I think he meant the lab mate.

She did not have huge testicles. Her rat did. I sat there watching run across the floor dragging these friggin bowling balls over all manner of rough terrain think "My God! That's got to hurt!" But I was apparently wrong because it ran back and forth like it was pleasuring itself.

This "lab" wasn't called "NIMH" was it?

this actually reminds me of the perfect urinal. I found it one time at a restaurant in Santa Fe, NM. It was tall, and instead of being open on one side, it was almost like a trash can, with a small divot on one side (to guide you, not to rest your testicles on). Anyhow it was beautiful and glorious because there was no potential for backsplash at all.

then, several years later, I was meeting a guy I met on a board (Monte cook’s old boards, through the Unearthed Arcana community) in NYC. He brought along some of his gamer friends. Turns out, one of them was a plumber and knew exactly which model of toilet I was talking about. Apparently they were extremely rare (I believe the number he said was 4 made) and it was made by Toto.

anyhow, there you go. My perfect urinal story.

Rare items are fun to know about. I had some rare engines / outdrives on a boat of mine. Called the regional rep for them and they said they didn't exist for both. Called the national rep who said give him the numbers and he'd get back to me.
"Good news and bad news. Good news is yes I have some information about that model engine. Apparently only 18 were reported made. Bad news is yours are numbered 22&23. You need to talk to the manufacturer in england.".
Outdrive rep just said they didn't exist. Despite me showing an extremely detailed manual on them and them attached to my boat. Good times.
