All this talk of licensed products had got me wondering what was happening with my order for the Goblin Slayer RPG.

I've just looked it up on Amazon, only to find my preorder of 36 AUD would now cost me 45AUD. Still aboout 2 months before release, but even so I'm happy, and without me doing anything.

What are other people's 'unintentional' deals?

Are you talking EVER, or recently? I remember exactly where I scored my copy of the Cutthroat RPG decades ago, along with one of it's supplements. Sold it for more than 10x what I paid. No regrets. It's a game for historians, not players.

I scored a copy of City of Chaos (boardgame) for $10 at a sale once. Resold it for 10x since I already had a copy.
Sold my thrifted Creeks and Crawdads for 20x what I paid for it.

Of course, I'd never sell my DE ES Philosopher's Stone Fortune Telling deck. Bought that for a steal in a tiny antique store. Maybe $20, IIRC.

Thrifting feels pretty dead as a hobby these days, at least where I am.
But while the going was good, I got a load of stuff no one is ever gonna find affordable copies of.

Just to clarify, I've added 'unintentional' to my original post.

To me your Fortune Telling Deck sounds like it would qualify, based upon what I can see on the internet. Not too sure what they actually look like, but seem to be popular.

It's been over 20 years and I still can't believe how I got the DC Heroes 3rd edition RPG plus a fat stack of supplements for what was probably less than USD 30 at the long-dead FLGS. (I suspect it was already a "license expiring" sale?).

But what if you’re lying now? You just admitted to being a liar.
No, I just admitted that I lied. If you had any real experience with me as a poster you'd know I don't generally, even to make myself look better.

Oh I give up.

Talk about thread derailment.

I got excited when all these comments appeared, but apparently there are more interesting topics.

So I'm repurposing this thread.

All this talk of licensed products POUCHES had got me wondering what was happening with my WHETHER I SHOULD order for the Goblin Slayer RPG POUCH.

You can apparently find anything on the internet.

I suppose I could use it for a dice bag?

You took that rather well, like a True Pubber riding that thread drift wave rather than being rolled by it, heh heh :shade:

But what if I had POUCHES on my costume?
A pox upon your pouches! Poxy pouches! Poxy pouches!

Sounds like the plucky sidekick from a 1940s comic book, doesn't it? Like it just feels like everywhere the Batman goes, he takes his trusty Poxy Pouches with him.

Isn't Batman's utility belt just a bunch of pouches?

It does make you wonder what he called his utility belt when they were alone together......

I once bought BESM 3rd edition for $3 at a local used store. Sold it that night for $70. At another store bought Star Wars Saga Knights of the Old Republic sourcebook for $6 and sold it for $120 that night. In both cases I purchased these just to flip them.

I got a Castles & Crusades book as a prize at Noble Knight's in-person store once. I guess that would have been a good deal if I played Castles & Crusades.

Back in 2007, I ordered the standard edition of Mass Effect 1 for xbox360. When it arrived, it had become a collector's edition instead. I double-checked my order to see if I had made a mistake, but nope. That type of thing, has actually happened a couple of times with Amazon for me.

I think the best deal I've had is on the Aliens DVD.

I saw my local superstore had it on their online shopping for just a few quid and added it to the weekly shop.

When the shopping turned up they didn't have it and had replaced it with the Alien Quadrilogy for the same price.
