Immortal: Invisible War, or whatever it was called. Decent reading, lots of kinda jank photoshop sfx art as I recall. Never could get anyone to play it but the lists of curse-like effects have come in useful in several other games.

And yeah, mine was Paranoia. Book says anniversary edition on it and I didn't bother back checking for a version number. Plays well if you got the clearance for it.
Good get!

It's looks like a Palladium game, but I can't identify specifically which one--Chaos Earth, System Failure, or their Zombie one.

Empire of the Petal Throne?
We have a winner! Your no-prize will be in the no-mail.

Then there's this one--sorry about the slightly blurry image. It's clearer if you zoom in a bit. The art alone gives it away, I think.

A different game, also with hex-based tactical combat:

Module from Top Secret SI?

That's a stellar example of inelegant 80's game design in action. PM me the answer please!
[If I have misunderstood the intent I apologise]

Are you saying that DW is itself inelegant (and 80's) or that that particular combat example is inelegant (and 80's)?

I concede that it was 80's but query the significance.

If the former:
I rather like DW as a setting and as a system although I accept it is flawed.
I find the fixed damage and armour bypass system and interesting variation, also splitting defence against multiple attackers seems to me to have some merit.

If the latter (and I accept this is purely subjective) I had the original corgi book and I rather liked it as an illustrated example of combat, I think seeing them in a partial graphical context helped me understand the combat rules.

The space ship's from Spacemaster 2nd edition.

I'm gonna guess the spy map is from Hero's Espionage or Danger International.

No need to apologize, I will clarify.

Elegance was not a priority of game design in the 80's and I instinctively knew DW was from that decade because the rules in the example were unrelated subsystems kludged together into an unwieldy whole. It's classic 80's game design.

That said, elegance is not a substitute for an evocative setting or sheer fun. I have many fond memories of Palladium and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay despite their flawed systems.

The graphic tutorial was awesome! I wish more games did that.

Oh good call on the map. I want to switch my answer.

Yep! It's one of the adventure modules for that RPG!
Ah. They aparently follow the same design and layout as Pallasium then. I'm not familiar with that specific book however. (The Battlelords book I had seemed to not have had that design, but its a vague memory so.)
