Stsrted in March or early April of 1978 with D&D. Moved to RQ spring 1981... Still playing there moved to use the Rq6/Mythras rules when they became available.

Summer of 1978 between 4th and 5th grade which just edges me into the Geeeeeezzzz you are old category.

We were playing AD&D, but I remember waiting for the DMG to be released so there must have been some OD&D involved in those early games. The first 20 years 1978-1998 ranged from very active (multiple game sessions a week) to moderately active (at least a few times a year). From 1998 to the present less so with far more time reading, writing, talking and dreaming about gaming than actively gaming.

Although my gaming has dwindled, since I started playing RPGs, I haven't had any significant period where gaming didn't have some influence on my interests. Sell games? Oh hell no.

Twas not D&D but Star Frontiers that brought me into the hobby back in 1988. I did play things like Dungeon!, Awful Green Things from Outer Space, and King of the Tabletop (bless you Tom Wham) beforehand, but that was my first actual RPG.
