He saw the crosswalks fine, just not the people in them. He might have also been a self driving car...
It's probably only a matter of time before our cars start trying to pitch us dental plans. Car companies are just leaving money on the table by failing to charge people to not have their car assistants recite ad copy.

The Set Up

Would you use an artificial womb? (I would)

For me and the Neo Fronteirs folks, this is an ectogenesis pod.

Once you have artificial wombs you can make artificial lifeforms and species (it is the next step). Thus the great Chimp/Gorilla + Human hybrid that the Soviets were so aggressively persuing in the beginning could be done. (The main issue is that you had to have a big human to carry them to term, as the human hips/ birth canal was required, plus a "hefty" woman. They did not go that far, as they were trying to take the Human out of the equation.) Various "Gamma" to use the Neo Frontiers term, could easily be developed and raised. As well as developing Alphas (humans who have the "higher end" of human genome - stronger, faster, smarter, healthier) and other genetic products. (And that is another ethics/ legal debate, are artificially made humans "people" - thus citizens or products?)

I didn't expect to see this kind of debate in my lifetime:shock:!

AND THE KICKER

So ethics aside, someone will push the development to be 99 to 99.9 similar. Then of course, someone (or even the same someone) will try the synthetic human (or maybe another mammal first). Sure this sounds like a horror movie or a techno-thriller (Athena Project anyone?) But we are living in a near cyberpunk future.

This is actually a product/ prototype for flying "bikes".

That looks AI generated, in all honesty.

There are also already flying bikes and cars in the police force in Dubai.

Oh that picture is computer generated, an artist's rendering. The same company that makes the Jetman Suits/ Backpacks is going to use the same engines for an "air quad". I have not seen actual photos of any prototypes. I assume it has the same issues as with their mini-jet gear: fuel/ air time. Especially vs the electrical prop type of air quad (which borrows from drone tech).

The comments and quotetweets of this are golden.

I remember there's one poster on the ol' RPGSite who kept talking over and over about the impending triumph of the sexbots.

I don't know if the movie "Cube" counts as cyberpunk, but we're well on our way...

Very much not "inspirational", but a reminder for the realities of a cyberpunk world:skeleton:!

And it's not the first at this site. Less than a year ago:

Now remember: in cyberpunk, corps run unchecked, so this kind of stuff? It's not even news-worthy, apart for local newspapers, which focus on who exactly got killed:shade:.
OTOH, something like Tokayev (the Kazakh president) ordering the corp (Arcelor) to leave the country? He just did that in our world.
But that might be harder in a cyberpunk world. In fact, it happening or not happening might verge on the actions of PCs:gunslinger:!

There's lots of very thirsty men in the world it seems. That tops this one.

...I get it that some places do have a water shortage, but for some reason I suspect that alleviating it isn't what this ad is about:shock:!

Do you really want me to explain it?

Belle Delphine started as a streamer on Twitch. She also uploaded some trolling videos on Pornhub. She's also on OnlyFans and very popular. She made this bathwater thing as yet another stunt. It was apparently a big success. At least she had to put a warning on them, because a couple of youtubers/streamers bought it and drank it. I only know about her, because a youtube channel I subscribe too made a video about the bathwater thing.

No, of course, I thought it's obviously a joke...

So, Disney is planning to build a Disney-themed residential community in the desert. I've seen enough movies to know this will end well.

Is this another Tremors sequel?

Rancho Mirage always felt like the outskirts of Palm Springs. Honestly California and desert towns (including a lot of Southern California) are the norm. Starting at 1 million feels like the norm. My grandparents newly built A frame house in Whittier California built right after World War II sold for almost a fucking millions dollars a few years ago. We're talking about a 900 square foot home with a small one car detached garage, one bathroom, two small bedrooms, a small kitchen and a small living room.

So yeah, Disney home sounds like a deal. lol. What a fucking odd world we live in now days.

I've always wanted to have a crossover of Stepford Wives and Burning Man.

In turns of "inspiration," real life is just so dark lately. How about an AI-generated database that helps you target enemies and their civilian families for deadly strikes? I'm not going to post specifics, as to provide something of a firebreak from RL politics, but if you're for some reason curious, and aren't having a depressing enough day yet, just do a search for "Lavender AI."

Hacking is the least of my concerns. The FLAMETHROWER is my concern. Even among authorized users. I'd love to hack it and roast the car of anyone who buys it (Bobby Tables anyone?)
Exactly. Hacking is a concern to anyone who buys one because of you.

Honestly tho the American free-for-all legality of military rated flamthrowers & napalm has always been a "WTF?!" to me. Its just the small market making them an oddity instead of a horrifying problem.
