Best Selling RPGs - Available Now @ DriveThruRPG.com
They made my favourite game of all time, so they get plenty of slack. They also get a hefty dose of I'll believe it when I see it.

Yep. After Mekton Zero (which I still haven't been refunded for FWIW), it would take a lot to get me to spend more money on R. Talsorian Games, which is a danged shame.

A lot of cyberpunk going around. must be the zeitgeist. I've got my own stuff that I like on this one, but I'm happy to see 5e expanding out.

Well it IS the beginning of our dark dystopian cyberpunk future....

I've been very much enjoying the Mothership RPG, and I know that some of you have been playing it, and others have had their curiosity piqued. Without rehashing it all here, there's a lot to like: highly parsimonious mechanics, terse presentation and a highly usable and aesthetically pleasing layout. The only drawback has been a dearth of material.

Well, that's changing with this latest Kickstarter for A Pound of Flesh, a kit for generating your space horror on seedy and dilapidated space stations. Check it out:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gerdling/a-pound-of-flesh-module-for-mothership-sci-fi-horr

It's only a $5 for the PDF and $15 for the PDF and hard copy, so it's pretty painless. And if you'd like to catch up by getting the Player's Guide and Dead Planet adventure, there's a bundle for that, too.

This is a DCC supplement that should be easy to use in other games for generating angels, relics and the duties and details of a religion.

It is designed by the same guy who did the sf/horror rpg Mothership that is the new hotness and the Drink, Spin Run podcast.

Ever since The Complete Priest and Legends and Lore for 2e (later discovered Runequest) I’ve been a sucker for cool, detailed religions so this is kinda RPG crack for me.

Cool art too.

This actually seems interesting. I might pass it, depending on how much d20-specific content there is, though:smile:.

Pity the US/AU excahnge rate is so low, otherwise I would back this for the mega-bundle, but not sure if I can afford $85 AUD on a whim just at present. But yeah this looks really cool

They just announced offset printing for the core rules, and they are about to hit the combined three city hardcover sourcebook.

I got the main book, which I understand is still in beta, and I really like what's in there but feel that some bug stats would be useful. It's a game I want to play but I don't feel that the core is quite complete yet.

Totally. I think that the issue is in the name...the only things out are the Player's Guide and Dead Planet. The Player's Guide is just that. There's really no guidance for creating and running a campaign. Using DP as a guide doesn't work, because as that scenario is described, it's basically pure chance that has the PCs stumbling across this particular space horror. A campaign consisting of the party coincidentally running into weird space horrors stretches credulity pretty hard by the third adventure.

I did start to put some scenarios together in my head. I mean, reading the Player's Guide did get my creative juices flowing. But I would like some more guidelines - some more mechanical stuff related to actually putting together a game of this. Also I would like to see a Corporate pc class in the Player's Guide (I'm too lazy to hack in my own).

So if I add back in all the fantasy elements I have Shadowrun via the 5E engine? (which would be just fine imo)

A lot of people have this idea. From what I have seen, there will be a little work involved. For example, the skill lists are different and Wisdom and Charisma have been replaced by Technology and People. However, it would be pretty simple, and I can almost see just running a straight D&D Wizard alongside Carbon 2185 ones and not worrying about the ability difference

Heroes of Terra

Guys! I've been waiting for this thing for years. Yeah, Lunars is cool, but this is the real game to follow right now, I don't give a shit what anyone else says

It's a pulp fantasy riff on classic video games, especially Super Mario Bros. In another reality, the asteroid never hit and finished off the big dinosaurs. There, plants and saurians are ascendant. The Mandagora Kingdom ruled for the most part until the Kappas conquered them. Fortunately, the resistance has help in the form of humans from our Earth. Earth's magic started draining away due to the damage done by the dino-killing ELE, but on Terra it's all over the place, and humans are pretty rip-roaring powerful there.

It's silly, but fun as hell. I've been following it on DTRPG, grabbing all the little preview supplements, waiting for this.

Errybody should check it out

The Kickstarter's up already? I've been waiting for this one, too. Thanks for the notice!

Hell yes it is. And I'm whoring it out as widely as I can.

Just once, of course. I won't make thread after thread about it, or talk about it in other threads. But otherwise, totally whoring it out.

... I should put it in my sig.

It might be worth looking at Codex of the Black Sun, for Stars Without Number, because one of the example campaign types it mentions is cyberpunk and it's one that's well-supported by the rest of the line too.

Sine Nomine Games are slowly but surely putting out D&D-based versions of every major RPG ever made.

I like the art. I can't grasp how to play something like this though. Just play against the Dragon Emperor like he is the final boss fight?

Seems to me it’d be no different from playing any other game. D&D where the end goal is the evil emperor. Flash Gordon vs whatever evil overlord and his armies. Etc etc.

Hell, play a Kappa bent on oppressing the Mandragorans.

Quickstart has been released and it looks good. It is consistent with 5e overall, but there is some great mods and reskins for that Cyberpunk vibe.

A group of people are attempting to crowdfund a Spider-Man 4 fan film to continue the Tobey Maguire films.

Hello fellow web-heads!

If you're reading this, more than likely you're a fan of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man Trilogy, and you were probably disappointed when years ago Spider-Man 4 was cancelled, over the last few years a LOT of information has come out about what the film was going to be and so we've gathered a large and talented team of creative people in the Pacific Northwest to fit together this jigsaw puzzle as best we can, put our own spin on it, and make a feature length fan film of Spider-Man 4!!

Incoming Cease & Desist from Disney in 5... 4... 3...

There already 646 dollars on their way to $10,000. That's the same budget as Birdemic for a superhero movie. Are... are they consciously trying to make a bad movie or is this a geniune artistic urge? I can't tell from reading the page.

Hey, everyone! I'm the author of Heroes of Terra, and Jetstream was nice enough to let me know about this thread. I'm happy to answer any and all questions about the game. Also, thanks to everyone who's complimented the art so far; Jen is a wonderful artist, and I'm so happy to be working with him on this project.

Hi! You can think of The Mushroom War as the setting book intended to show the continent of Lemuria during a specific time of crisis: the oppression of the Mandragoran Kingdom by the Dragon Empire. Campaigns set during this period are designed to use the Peachblossom Rebellion as a unifying force for the player characters, drawing them together in common cause against the kappa oppressors. In that sense, it's supposed to play out the same as any other fantasy setting that has an "evil overlord"; while you could treat the Dragon Emperor as a "final boss" (and that's very much the intent of the Plot Point Campaign), you can also just run an entire campaign about the members of the resistance fighting a guerilla war against the kappa, aiding villagers against the monsters that threaten them now that they're not being protected by the Kingdom, or scavenging relics of the ancient world to use in the war effort.

You could also say "screw all that!" and explore the rest of the continent of Lemuria! While The Mushroom War focuses on the major change in the balance of power that's happened in the last five years, enough information is given about the pre-war world that you could just as easily run a more "normal" fantasy game in the setting without getting caught up in the war at all. There's also information given about the places not currently affected by the war, like the swampy Kingdoms of Chai, the tropical Tlaxcalli Islands, and the floating islands of the Cloud Kingdoms.

Like I said above, I'm happy to answer any and all questions about the setting, so fire away!

Looks really neat. Kind curious how you incorporated shyguys in the setting? human tuncoats? failed saurian automata?

One of the playable races in the setting are the pudicans, sometimes known as "the shyfolk." They're a highly intelligent asocial race whose culture calls for completely concealing their appearance in public. They're the major techno-magical innovators of the Dragon Empire, but many of them have defected to the resistance because they see their "pure research" being used for weapons of war and are horrified at the results.

Humans are drawn to Terra by the living spirit of the world seeking out heroes. While not every human drawn across is "good," they all have the seed of potential greatness within them. Humans who turn against the living world find themselves becoming twisted and deformed as Terra's "immune system" tries to expel the cancerous arrival. In general, almost every human on Terra was brought there from Earth to serve as a champion of the living world against the kappa and their machinations.

The kappa have been fascinated by the automata of the ancient world for centuries, though they lack the ability to repair or manufacture such wonders on their own. Under their direction, the pudicans have created new, far more primitive automata to serve the kappa, including such horrible engines of war as the ballistic drones, chainmaws, and similar minor constructs. Rumor has it that the construction of more advanced automata is underway in the stolen fortress-cities where the Dragon Emperor's seven lieutenants make their lairs.
