FFG games always seem so over-complicated to me. We still play Chaosium's version of Arkham Horror, while FFG's sits dusty on the shelf.
I never played Chaosium's version . I do have Chill Blackmorn Manor which evolved into Betrayal at the House on the Hill.

Funny thing, I've been actually searching through eBay for Talisman 2e material to replace the long lost. I bought the Fantasy Flight version and just didn't grok it. It felt so much different than the old Talisman 1e/2e. Anyhow nicely done!
There is something special about 2e. I had a friend who had The Adventure and Dungeon and I had the other expansions. This weekend I finally got a copy of Dungeon and could field the entire set (other than Dragons). We had a great time. Lots of emergent storytelling

Another dump- some repetition here too that I didn't catch before I took the pictures:

Some things I picked up for getting through some DTRPG POD at-cost coupons.

From a Kickstarter- to a large extent this is a combination RPG/Board Game, though it's more RPG. Very nice production values

Mothership 1E Boxed set. Very nicely done

3 good things, but lumped the other in for good measure. Can you tell which one of these don't belong in Something Good You Got Recently?

Includes two repeats, but the Starship one is a nice solo game, and got in on Era: Dead West on a whim.

I received one of my favorite items related to roleplaying games a couple days ago. A 17 x 22 poster for DC Heroes signed by the legendary José Luis García López. This was promoting DCH after it had won best RPG at the Origin Awards. I can’t wait to find a spot to hang it.

wow, that is amazing and so uniquely you

Two caught my eye... "Swords of Meropis"? What can you tell me about it? Impressions etc.

Also "Corsairea, City of Rogues". Same question.

Mothership always confuses me, (not mechanics) I keep reading that there is supposed to be a new edition (2e?) and anytime I've read up on about the editions/release dates etc I read confusing information.

Edit: Did a google on "Swords of Meropis", looks interesting. Though I wish it were 2d6 versus 1d12. There is something about rolling two dice, that feels very satisfying versus one die. It's why when I play D20 games I roll old style of a 1d6 (1-3 read the d10 as 1-10, 4-6 read the d10 as 11-20) and 1d10 for my D20 roll.

Maybe it was growing up around a bunch of card/dice game playing family members who spent a lot of time in Vegas including taking us as kids. Two dice just satisfies me a solid sort of way.

Now to go and google the other book. heh.

And found the City of Rogues Kickstarter, nice looking material and I could see snagging it to add to an existing campaign.

That's a lot of awesome stuff!20240426_162604.jpg

Just got the Traveller book in today. Wasn't really looking to bother with the Mongoose version - Cepheus Engine has worked for me so far - but for $20 I couldn't pass it up.

I actually got the print copy of Hack100 a couple of weeks ago, but forgot to post about it at the time.

Nice. If I may ask, where did you score Traveller for 20 bucks?

It was from one of those local marketplace pages on Facebook. I haven't lived in the area in question for several years, but a friend who does alerted me that someone was selling off some of their RPG stuff for reasonable prices. Most of it wasn't of interest to me, but I figured I'd give the Traveller book a shot. Had to pay for shipping, of course, but that was also fairly reasonable.

If nothing else the layout and presentation on it is nice, at first glance. I'll probably use a few ideas from it if I ever run CE again.

My 2 more recent KS books that came in was Kogarashi (fantasy set in Feudal Japan) and Rushlight (Medieval horror rpg). Rushlight was for ZineQuest; I can't remember if Kogarashi was, but it's definitely zine sized

The prior edition was 0.9 or something... it wasn't 1e. So this one just released bumps it to 1e.

Ah, I see. Somehow I couldn't ever seem to find easy, clear messaging as to what they were actually up to with the editions. I found what felt contrary and clear messaging. So took that as a red flag and decided to sit on the side lines and see if I could ever figure out what was what.

DTRPG says Kogarashi is 108 pages and available in both soft and hard cover. How's the system and the setting? How much artwork is in there?

I literally just got my copy yesterday, so I can't say. I'm back at work, so I really won't have time to look at it until next week. The cover looks pretty good, and I think they showed some art pieces during the campaign. I know it should be black and white, but that's all I know at the moment

Just scored another WFRP 1st edition, this time softcover.

Total now stands at 3 softcover and one hardcover. Need two more that way if I decide to I can run it with my curent group and everyone has a book at the table.

I have a soft spot for the 80s softcover rulebook. Normally I am hardcover all the way, but that version feels sturdier than the hardcover and has a few errata thrown in.

I was a security guard working rotating shifts at a downtown Toronto office tower when I bought that WFRP hardcover at the Worldhouse game store. My friend Dan saw the size of it and joked about how long it would be before I could run it.

A couple weeks later, I saw Dan again and he asked how much of the book I had managed to get through. I replied, “Oh, I’ve read the entire thing.”

He was surprised and asked me how.

“Well,” I said, “I’ve been working.”

He paused for a moment and then asked, “You think you could get me a job there?”

The WFRP campaign that came out of that book lasted two years of weekly play and was the second most fun I ever had running a game (my current group is the best ever). I still have that hardcover and it’s one of my few prized games in print form.

I fully intend to return to WFRP with my current group after we play the Mythras occult investigator game I’m going to run next.

Have to tell us how that mega dungeon is!
I'm about a third of the way through and so far it's very good. There are a lot of great inflection points that makes certain choices matter in the larger scale of the dungeon and some really good gating and connections. I'm going to run it for sure, probably with Shadowdark.

I already had All Must Bow, but I picked up the expansion, Sundered Sundries. Postcards with additional cosmic terrors not pictured.

The Flood Bells Toll In Saint Magnus is available free as PDF, but it's very nicely done and I wanted hardcopy.

Finally, The Breach. I'd been hunting for a compact, flexible, sci-fi RPG. This doesn't have space travel, but I'll fill that gap some other way. I'm really liking what I'm reading so far.

This just arrived from the Kickstarter: a special red-ink printing of Frontier Scum. (The 50 peso banknote did not come with the book, by the way.) The content is the same as the standard edition, which I already got, but the artwork has lots of extra bloody variations.

So the Mutant Year Zero Zone Wars Kickstarter showed up yesterday. I'm too lazy to take pictures, but it looks really nice. As I'd hoped, its based off the MYZ RPG system, and both sets came with more MYZ dice

Here's some stock pics that are better than what I can do lol...
