The answer to that question segues this thread nicely with the Premises for Call of Cthulhu Adventures from Real Life thread.Back when everyone was trying to outdo each other with how many different shades of brown they could cram into their house...
Shit, I recall that room in the 1970s. Matter fact I recall getting to third base with Lisa Gonzales on that floor next to the couch, think it was 1979 actually. Ah the wood paneling, the long-ass wooden console tv/stereo playing KLOS 95.5 music low, her parents not home... good times.
To hide the nicotine stains. That's the only possible explanation. No-one could have enjoyed that decor.Back when everyone was trying to outdo each other with how many different shades of brown they could cram into their house...

You all need to watch the show Ugliest Houses in the USA. It's this kinda stuff all day plus folks with way too much or too little money for their brains/needs.
I think I threw up a little looking at that... that... that THING.
The first flat spittingwife and I lived in together (built in the 70s and never redecorated) came with carpet tiles in the bathroom. By this time they were rotten and 50% nylon/50% mould. The landlord agreed to let wifey remove them - but only if she stored them in the garden shed so they could be returned when she moved out.I think I threw up a little looking at that... that... that THING.
Is this right off the living room? Thankfully, they provided a shower curtain for privacy.
It's missing the plastic that should be wrapped around all the cushions.
I'm actually guessing this is a joke because that looks more like a closet than a bathroom.
What? Baby shit brown doesn't do it for you?it's the carpeting more than the size that gets me
Sadly carpeting in the bathroom was a 60s-70s thing....it's the carpeting more than the size that gets me
Based on that I'd guess this is actually in a questionably finished basement.it's the carpeting more than the size that gets me
I am currently wearing wool socks, a flannel shirt, and a graphic T. It's too cold yet for cargo shorts. I also listened to the new Pearl Jam single this morning. It's a thing. My son comes down from school this morning wearing a flannel shirt, unbuttoned, over a t shirt and cargo shorts with wool socks. My head immediately was filled with pearl jam and soundgarden.
we were strongly debating taking him to a pearl jam concert but the venue of choice (which is one of the cheaper ones) is like $350 a head and i'm like... that's a lot.I am currently wearing wool socks, a flannel shirt, and a graphic T. That is a lot. I remember PJ tickets being more reasonable but I haven't been to a show in ages.we were strongly debating taking him to a pearl jam concert but the venue of choice (which is one of the cheaper ones) is like $350 a head and i'm like... that's a lot.
You're raising him right. Carry on.My son comes down from school this morning wearing a flannel shirt, unbuttoned, over a t shirt and cargo shorts with wool socks. My head immediately was filled with pearl jam and soundgarden.
They lost that fight even at the time. Gave it the old college try though.I thought Pearl Jam's thing back in the day was that they thought ticket prices were too expensive due to Ticketmaster?

That price seems high for them period. Ticket costs have been creeping hard though, so this may just be the world we live in now, IDK.So they swung to the other extreme? "May as well milk it for all we can..."
they still set them aside, but they aren't much reduced.Pearl Jam also used to set aside a big block of tickets up front for their fan club at reduced prices, although I have no idea if they still do this or how it might work.
It all went to hell when we left Freon behind.Forget the craptastic couches or carpeted bathrooms.
Those are pikers compared to this OG:
